Re: Opinions on the Mirage Liberty Hybrid Masks
I use this mask and like it and think it's very effective but... the nasal pillows tend to start leaking on me after 5 weeks. I have started to try boiling them to see if that helps.

Re: Allergy Season - Benefits to CPAP?
In my case this has been true. I suffered from congestion in general at night and now thanks to CPAP I rarely feel stuffed up. I would make sure to use good filters and replace them often since you have allergies.

Shouldn't stomach sleeping prevent OSA in some people?
I know sleeping on my back creates blockage for me at night. I'm assuming this has to do with my soft palate or maybe my tongue blocking my airway. If i can figure out how to comfortably sleep on my stomach shouldn't that in theory prevent OSA blockage during sleep?

Well mine are mostly last few hours when REM sleep is most active. Could have something to do with that.

Re: How do I know if I don't need CPAP anymore?
I've been told by my sleep doc my deviated septum has no connection to my OSA. I also question weight and OSA. I have a BMI in the low 20s and in great shape yet still have OSA. I think it's a throat anatomy issue and we just have to deal with it.

Interesting article. Seems like he has become wise with age. It also sounds like he has 28 CPAP machines to go with his 28 houses. Nice.

Re: Extreme dry mouth and throat
i have been dealing with dry mouth issues lately as well. A suggestion from my dentist was to buy tablets that you stick in the back of your mouth which dissolve throughout the night to prevent dry mouth. I haven't tried them yet. I forget what they are called but I saw them in a box right where the...

Re: Resmed liberty hybrid
I sleep primarily on my back but like to switch to my side once in a while. Are folks able to sleep on their side with the mask or does it leak? Hmm. I am a side sleeper and wear this mask and it's great. I get up when I'm on my back wearing this mask and sometimes I notice it leaks when I wake up ...

Re: Any mouthbreathers having success with Swift FX?
"Sleep on your back. This opens your airways and takes pressure off the sinus cavities, stimulating air exchange through the nose instead of the mouth. Sleeping on your back also aids nasal secretions to drain properly. Step 4" Odd. This is exactly the reason I mouth breath. Gravity drops my jaw dow...

Re: Resmed liberty hybrid
I use the resmed liberty mask and very happy with it. My only complaint in the past has been the pillows start leaking after around 5 weeks of use. But since I read about boiling to reshape them that seems to work. If you are paying for it yourself do a good search online since the place I by it fro...

Re: increased AHI levels and stress
I have much more restless sleep when I am stressed. Sounds normal to me. I also find that my machine will inaccurately register my AHI because I get up so often and it thinks I am having more sleep pauses when I'm not. Sorry about your situation I hope everything works out and you can get back to no...

Re: Getting a new machine- Is Resmed s9 a good choice?
I like it but kind of bummed I paid full price for it online from a retailer. I was in a rush once I was diagnosed and wanted to get me some CPAP lovin. I see people here offering new units with the humidifier for under $500 instead of the $1100 I paid. Now that's a bargain.

Re: New Guy w/ Questions
I have done well on CPAP since day 1. It took a while for my AHI to get down to where it is now around 2 most nights because I had to get used to the mask over time. I still get sleepy during the day, like to lay down for 20 minutes in the afternoon and just rest not necessarily sleep. I haven't fou...
