Re: "Unofficial" Newbie
Hi, and welcome to the forum. I had been told to bring my own pillow to the sleep study, and I'm glad I did. Also, wear comfy pajamas and socks. If the room feels cool, ask for an extra blanket. My tech was very nice, and had been diagnosed with sleep apnea a year ago. I had a split study, so slept ...

Re: Newbie needs help with Nasal Pillow and compliance!
I've ordered S8 Autoset II with a humidifier. Since it was suppose to be the quietest one with data capability. I'm hoping I can breath easier with it. Perhaps in the dark, every little things seem to be amplified ten fold. With my current machine making at least 31dB of noise, I am looking forward...

Re: Week 2, high leaks but low AHI
I had purchased the little PAPillow, and brought that along. Some nights I use it, other nights, I don't. I like it for side sleeping the most. Haven't found my "best pillow combination" yet.DoriC wrote:Also wondering if you brought along your own bed pillow or using the hotel's?

Re: Week 2, high leaks but low AHI
Added challenge is that we are on the road to AZ, so a different hotel every night. But the good news is: I feel well rested, in spite of getting up every 2 hours to make mask adjustments. And only *one* apnea all night. Your leak isn't that bad. You are in a different hotel bed every night. Your n...

I'm a 2 week newbie, so know your frustration. Please don't take this the wrong way, but it's important to keep a problem-solving attitude. Go to the User Control Panel, and post your equipment, so people can offer suggestions for your specific equipment. Use the Search function, and put in Swift Li...

Re: Still New, Making Slow Progress
What would be the next thing to concentrate on, AHI, or Leakage ? Although I have made progress on both, they are still poor compared to most I see on here. My weekly avg on lkg is 41.5 L/Min although last night was 37.3, still very high . Hi, I'm a newbie too--2 weeks on cpap. Are you comparing yo...

Re: Zen of the Mask-Beyond the numbers
Through the sharing of our trials and tribulations, failures and successes....our efforts are validated and more worthwhile. Each of us does earn it. Each of us, in the dark of the night, makes the journey alone, but always with the knowledge that many are in support of us and pulling for us. Yes, ...

Re: What tape for taping ones mouth shut?
Must be a guy thing, my husband would probably use masking tape too. I've been using Johnson and Johnson Hurt-free First Aid Paper Tape. I couldn't find 2 inch, so overlap 2 pieces of the 1 inch. From reading here, I learned to make a little tab at the end, so it's quick and easy to remove.

Re: just got equipment. need help.
When I had my sleep study, I had a wonderful woman as my respiratory tech. After trying on several masks, and settling on the most comfortable one, she set it for 5 cmH2O, and told me to sit back and relax. She said that actually the body adapts to cpap quite readily. Its the *brain* that has diffic...
