Re: What can I do?

increase pressure by 1 cm until AI=.8 or .6
keep leak no higher than .06L/s
multiply leak rate by 60, compare to mask chart for pressure used.

Re: Off to a bad start....

did the Gel mask come with instructions for boiling it for a custom fit? Should be a process where you boil some water, dip the cushion of the mask in boiling water for like 1.5 minutes, then dip it in ice water for like 10 seconds and hold it tightly to your face for 3-5 minutes until it cools. Thi...

Re: High pressure, High AHI and High leaks. What's a guy to do?

I have been using a Bipap for one month. My initial sleep study gave my AHI as 80. My titration sleep study was somewhat inconclusive but recommended a Bipap machine set for 22 cm H2O inhale and 17 cm H2O exhale, which is what I have been using for the last month. My machine gives me a 7 day averag...

Re: Pure Sleep Co. Drawing Attention

Thanks for your reply, ca_hosehead. That helps. One thing kind of funny about the Pure Sleep ads I see on TV...they always show a diagram of the mouth and throat, with the uvula flopping in the throat, obstructing the airway. After the "patient" puts in the device, they show the uvula and soft pala...

Here's the other 4cmH2O to 10cmH2O recommended gap Doug mentioned in his post above: 4.3.1.6 The recommended minimum IPAP-EPAP differential is 4 cm H2O and the maximum IPAP-EPAP differential is 10 cm H2O (Consensus). http://www.aasmnet.org/Resources/ClinicalGuidelines/040210.pdf http://www.pubmedce...

Re: PB 420 E leaks

there should be a round clear silicone coupler between machine and the tank. Push down on the tank, slide it back from the machine, check the coupler, insert your finger and pull it out a bit, makes sure machine is seated on the platform, slide the tank back into the machine until it stops. Make sur...

Re: My first night on ASV

I guess we know why they call it Complex SDB. 1. Obviously you don't do any better with greater PS of 3, I would stay below that or even move IPAP Min down to EPAP back to CPAP. 2.Compare your reports going back to 11/20, even though there is a train wreck in the center, last night was the first nig...
