Re: American Airlines took my medical equipment bag

Some airlines will charge obese people for two seats.

Re: do any cpaps have FAA approval labels ON THEM?

There is a very significant number of people in North America that live above 5,000 feet. Denver is at about 5,280 feet and Mexico City is at about 7,400 feet.

Re: do any cpaps have FAA approval labels ON THEM?

The specs for both the basic IntelliPAP and the auto IntelliPAP show that they auto compensate for altitude up to 9.000 feet.

Re: Anyone "take breaks" from their CPAP?

I just put the hose and mask in the nightstand drawer, the cabin stewards never bothered my CPAP. Notify the cruise company before the cruise that you will be using a CPAP and that you will need distilled or demineralized water. Bring a lightweight 15 foot extension cord and a set of outlet adapters.

I won't even consider taking a nap without using CPAP.

Re: American Airlines took my medical equipment bag

I am able to carry my CPAP stuff, medications, extension cord, and a couple of books or magazines in a Respironics Series M bag. I can also fit my CPAP battery and charger in my CPAP bag if I decide to carry it. I carry my laptop, camera, cell phone charger, and lunch in a laptop bag. I have been on...

Re: American Airlines took my medical equipment bag

I side with the airlines on this; it sounds less than a medical equipment bag and more like a rolling carry-on bag that happens to contain some medical equipment.

Re: My favorite new accessory - retractable power cable

How long it the cord? Where did you buy it?
Click on the picture or name to get a description and source. It should fit most xPAPs, including the IntelliPAP.

Re: TRUCKERS

Most CPAPs will run off of 12 volts DC. Cpap.com and other places sell power cables so that you can plug CPAPs into a cigarette lighter socket. My guess is that the sleeper will have a DC power socket, AKA cigarette lighter socket.

My doctor has provided me with his email address, but he does not normally use email due to privacy concerns. Email does not meet HIPPA privacy requirements.

Re: Coworker died from OSA operation

I have had both a UPPP and an MMA. I have the excuse that when I had them done there was no Internet to find out how useless they would be. I can't believe the number of people who are informed of the success rates and the possible side effects, yet they get defensive and defiantly go ahead with the...

Re: OT..Once more..Alaska trip advice please!

Credit cards and ATMs are great. If you have to pay ATM fees, don't take several small ATM withdrawals, it is cheaper to take a few large withdrawals. Make sure that you always have at least a couple of hundred dollars cash in case you have a credit card or ATM issue. I have been to Caribbean island...

Re: machine interferes with my nighttime radio listening

Are you listening to an AM radio? FM radio will be far less likely to receive interference than AM.

If you are using an FM radio, Radio Shack has a power line noise filter, model 61-2327m which may help.
