Re: Mattresses?

Tempur-Pedic here also. Wife and I have been on it for a little over two years now. I wasn't sure about it at first because I was afraid it would be a little too firm for my liking but have to say it hasn't been an issue. It is a queen size. We splurged and got the model that raises your head and le...

Re: ED & libido

I had a doc tell me a couple of years ago that he like to see the testosterone between 600-800. So if someone has between 200-300 I would have thought the doctor would have recommended someway to boost it up a little. The way I understand the ED pills working is they help the heart release some kind...

Re: Battery Backup Design

Great work and explanation, John!! I had been wondering how much power a unit actually used. About 2 1/2 amps max isn't bad.
I feel badly for the folks that are suffering without electricity because of the snowstorm on the East coast and don't have any kind of backup
to use.

Re: Graduating from Bi-pap to ASV (maybe)

Hi John, I had copies of both the first study with the bipap and the second with the ASV made before I left the doctors office. I don't know which machine will be the one I use yet. I slept with the Respironics model at the lab so maybe that will be the one they bring. She said it would be one that ...

Re: Graduating from Bi-pap to ASV (maybe)

Just returned from meeting with my sleep doc and going over the results of my tests. Starting with the first visit where I used Bipap only. The respiritory paragraph states: The patient was observed to have had a total number of 98 resp. events with an AHI index of 15.5 per hour during total sleep t...

Re: Nasal congestion try 1,547

I am glad this thread got bumped back up as the question of nasal congestion and what everybody does for it has crossed my mind before. There are two things I can count on by bedtime and both of them is that my nose will be stopped up. I buy the double pack of Menthol No-Drip Afrin from Sam's Club a...

Re: Graduating from Bi-pap to ASV (maybe)

Hi John, I had the sleep study last Tuesday night. Everything went fairly well. I did not take any medication to help me sleep and about half way through the night I was wishing I had. Was restless and seemed to have more dreams than what I normally have but that is water under the bridge. The tech ...

Re: How many hours should CPAP be worn per night?

A company rep when I first bought my machine told me that wearing it for 4 hours a night was enough time to gain good benefits from CPAP treatment. Please don't believe what this person is saying. Apparently this person thinks he/she knows more than what the specialist knows. Hang in there and try ...

Re: Good Results, at last !!!

It is a shame you had to go through so much grief before getting someone to listen to you. Too bad complaining to higher ups did not help you resolve your issues sooner. Perserverance is a virtue and you are commended for sticking to your guns until things were straighted out and you can now enjoy s...

Re: Graduating from Bi-pap to ASV (maybe)

Hey John, Found out earlier the Resmed is the product of choice I will be using. According to the dr.'s office they have two sleep lab companys they use here for the ASV titration and depending on your insurance provider network is what determines where you are sent. They assured me the tech would b...

Re: wake up to a jolt like a charge or shock with cpap

I can't attest to a medical opinion but it shouldn't be machine related as far as electrical shock causing it. The hose and mask wouldn't be a source of conductivity for electricity; being plastic and all.
Hope you can find out the reason and get back to using it.

Re: Graduating from Bi-pap to ASV (maybe)

DSM, How did you happen to arrive at having both the Bipap Auto SV and the Vpap Adapt SV? I guess that's one way of solving the either/or dilemma. As long as neither one sounds like a jet engine ramping up for take off; I will be happy. The Bipap I used in my lab test a week and a half ago reminded ...
