Re: Central Apneas and BiPAP S/T

I know what you mean. I had not heard of central sleep apnea until I got the call from the doctor telling me to go back for another study. I then started doing some research and discovered what you have. CSA should be treated with specialized equipment. If your lab study indicated you are experienci...

Re: Central Apneas and BiPAP S/T

I am not going to say I have the answer to your question but I will relate my experience. I have been on a bipap since 98' and never had another lab test done until a few weeks ago. My machine started acting up on me so the doctor set up a new study as part of the process to allow me to get a prescr...

Re: Lowest AHI ever !!!

From my uneducated glance it looks very good and I am happy for you to have had such a good night. The almost 7 hours of usage is great.
I realize you might not achieve this every night but you now know it is attainable and hopefully won't get too discouraged when a not so restful night occurs.

Re: Ventilator - Around the Barn and Back Again

I am sorry that things did not go as expected or planned. Hopefully in the future you can look back on this experience and say that even though it had alot of down periods; it was worth it and everything is better now. Will be thinking about you and hope to hear some good news from you tomorrow........

Re: Have a Vpap Adapt SV or want to know who its for ?

You're right, John. I am glad the option is even available to treat this. Has CSA always been a category but did not have an effective treatment or was it lumped in with OSA and all that was on hand to treat it was xpap and hope for the best? CSA, I would guess, has always been around. Kind of like ...

Re: Have a Vpap Adapt SV or want to know who its for ?

What a great link. I am waiting patiently for an ASV machine to be delivered to me, hopefully later this week. I'm not sure if it will be the Resmed or the Respironics version. All I know is I'm ready for it to get here....... On page two of the presentation I wish they would add one more patient ty...

Re: Afrin use for extended periods of time

I have been using a nightly nose spray for as long as I can remember since I got my bipap machine in 98'. Mainly Afrin. I have used a few generic brands such as Equate from Walmart and they worked ok but it seems like the nozzle section on the cheaper brands does not atomize as well as the name bran...

Re: CPAP carry on & non US flights?

I haven't been from foreign > foreign like you are asking but I have always taken my machine as a carry on and never let it get out of my hands other than going through the screening machine or put in the overhead compartment. I let the person standing by the screener know I have a bi-pap machine (a...

Re: New to CPAP

My AHI during the sleep study was 74 and my michine pressure was set to 19. Am I wrong or is that an awfully high setting for a cpap (19). I thought when the pressure gets to a certain point you switch over to the bi-pap to make it easier to exhale. Mine is set at 14/10. I would hate to be trying t...
