Sterile is a medical term of art. Distilled water, like drinking water, is not typically sterile. However, there are still of regulations and practices that guarantee the safety of such water. Outside of a medical setting, few things are sterile. If you clean your dishes and let them dry, you're cle...

Re: Can you use APAP nighlty or is it a temporary thing?
Many Docs insist that you use the type of machine as you were tested on. This gives them protection from being sued. Even if CPAP and APAP have the same insurance classification number It protects the doctor from being sued. However, it also protects the patient from being harmed. My doctor order a...

Re: New pressure doesn't seem to help
Diagnosing Thyroid problems is easy. It's either Hyper (Grave's Disease) or Hypo (Hashimoto's Disease) while skipping on Goiter. Diagnosing thyroid problems isn't always easy. My GP gave me Synthroid because I was hypothyroid. He ignored the thyroid nodule he felt. About a year later, I was diagnos...

Re: F & P Icon Auto vs. Resmed S9 Auto (data)
Mind you, according to my sleep doctor, the data that all CPAP machines produce is totally inaccurate and is all marketing hype to sell the machines. He believes that the only way to truly know what is going on is to have a proper titration study done. He basically told me to ignore the stats produ...

Re: Graphs using Performance Maximizer software
Thanks for your advice. I did buy the regular version of the software. I haven't yet called the manufacturer because I believe the retailer is not supposed to sell the software to patients. However, if I cannot get the graphs to work, I may have to do so.

Graphs using Performance Maximizer software
I purchased the Fisher & Paykel Performance Maximizer software to read the data from my Sleepstyle 254. The tables appear in the report, however, none of the graphs appear. On the left top of the pages that should have graphs, it says "QCChart2d Trial 1.5.0.10." In the middle of the pages that shoul...

Re: F&P 254 'apnea cap' setting?
Thanks to the person who asked this question and the person who answered it. I, too, unsuccesfully tried to set the sleep apnea cap in the Fisher & Paykel 254. I couldn't figure out why it didn't work. I wondered what I was doing wrong. Now I know I don't have to worry about it.

Do I have mixed sleep apnea? Was the Sleep doc. sloppy?
I have a few questions/concerns regarding my sleep study. According to the study, I have severe obstructive sleep apnea with an AHI of 40. I understand that part. Based upon the information below, I'm wondering if the sleep doctor should have labelled me with with mixed sleep apnea. The report says ...
