Re: "Ah Ha" moment regarding nasal bridge pressure ulcers
Long entry here at 4:09am but am not sleeping well tonight due to a recent death in the family... not from apnea or cpap use. My condolences. A death in the family can be very stressful. My doctor stated that I should not have been placed in a full face mask. Said my mouth breathing was due to my j...

Re: Train accident
Why not everyone? I have long advocated that routine physicals include a screening questionnaire and anatomy evaluation (jaw and airway) for sleep apnea. They check your blood pressure, heart rate, cholesterol and body temperature. What not take another two minutes to look for the root cause of som...

Re: How do you have your cpap hose positioned
Once I start tossing and turning it goes everywhere I guess but only once have I woke up with a problem and that was when I tried to strangle myself with the hose. Wrapped 3 times around my neck. Never did figure out how I managed to do that. I am glad I am not your bedmate, you sound dangerous!

Re: How do you have your cpap hose positioned
Hanging from a rope which is tied to the ceiling. I keep getting tangled up in the hose if it's laying across the bed.
Edit: ...and that wakes me up constantly. I hate travelling and not having a high enough headboard or lamp to attach to.

Re: OT - BPPV
echo -I was told slowly and that SEEMS to work, for me anyway. Did your reading tell you to do it quickly? Yup, in order to avoid having the crystal settle, or something like that. But don't take my word for it, it's been a while since I read all that! Or maybe it was the *motion* itself that had t...

Re: OT - BPPV
Good luck Read up on the Epley though because I thought you had to do all 3 (?) motions very quickly for it to work properly.

Re: Cats Walking Across my Machine
We banned our 2 cats from the bedroom once they became outside cats (the amount of stuff they'd clean off of themselves & leave on the bed became kinda scary!). They were relatively young at the time, and I can't remember if they got annoyed with it. I do miss snuggling up with them tho.. but not wa...

Re: OT - BPPV
BPPV is supposed to be transient - the loose crystal gets reabsorbed after some days/weeks. Chronic vertigo/dizziness is probably something else and definitely worth getting checked out - it could be anything from a virus (a colleague of my bf's had that and it sounds horrible), to meds, to position...

Re: OT - BPPV
Thanks chunkyfrog, I also remember that the crystal can get stuck in 1 of 3 canals. Also of interest is that one needs to know in which ear it is. In my case, by the time I got to the dr's office, she couldn't determine which ear it was from (the direction of the eye jerking is supposed to determine...

Re: Minimum pressure and APAP
I get CAs at pressures above 10.5, which were also noted on my titration PSG. You can look through your report to see if they also noticed any at certain pressures.
But as others have said, they are usually due to therapy changes or sleep onset.

Re: OT - BPPV
And for me the funniest part was actually trying to WALK - it was literally like I was drunk stumbling around in my own house, swaying side-to-side when walking. I was terribly amused at myself! Going down the stairs was particularly challenging.

Re: OT - BPPV
I had this too!!!!! I also thought I was having a stroke. I woke up real dizzy one morning. It felt like being very drunk, without actually being drunk. When I kept still, it was ok, but the room would start to spin when I moved my head. I could feel the eye-jerking happening and that was weird! I c...

Re: OT: Mike & I have Pneumonia!
Maybe a stupid question, but is he being monitored by a pulse ox? Maybe that will at least sure he's sufficiently ozxygenated. Perhaps you can ask for the previous night's SP02 readings?
