Re: Weight loss stall first week into CPAP

Hi Lisa, Short answer: Stay the course and eat well, it will work out. TLDR: CPAP can bring on a lot of subtle changes, both good and bad. I've learned from experience and from this board there are so many combinations of people and effects it's impossible to list them all. Generally speaking, it sh...

Are you supposed to empty the tank every day at home?

Re: Travel/Hotel Question

No problems leaving mine out either but there is even a lazier option.

I've found if I get on a long roll of good sleep I can then go 1-2 nights without cpap and not be that bad off if I try to side sleep. So if I only have to travel 2 days/1 night I sometimes leave it home.

Re: Pulse/Ox to the rescue.

Thanks for the info BDG. I'll post more on the wireless options soon. Basically I'm working on software to collect data wirelessly, using standard technologies that aren't that expensive. Kind of like a FitBit system for cpap. It looks like an oximeter with wireless capability, that is also has good...

Re: Pulse/Ox to the rescue.

I've found one that's bluetooth enabled. Think I'm going to order one and try to get it to work in an iPhone app, at the same time as the wireless cpap data is collected. If you need one they run about $40 on fleabay (drop shipped from China). Make sure it has a usb port and can log data. When I was...

Re: How do you upgrade/buy a new CPAP machine? need new study?

I think this is the norm, but thought I heard some doctors were starting to time limit this. Just make sure your prescription doesn't have an expiration date. This is an excellent question, one heard quite often for sure. Succinctly, no, you don't have to have another sleep study in order to obtain ...

FM
You need a record pulse Oximetre. It doesn't come with the machine.

Re: Pulse/Ox to the rescue.

BDG, What device are you using to record your Pulse/Ox? Maybe I'm missing the ones for my machine (s9). FM I have long suspected, "knew", that my mother and sister have SA. I do, and their snoring patterns are a "dead" give away. I was camped at the parental abode this past weekend due to a death in...

Re: Memory SD card and ResMed S9

I'm testing cards up to 8GB and they are working fine in the S9.

The biggest problem is the machine will reject any card that non-cpap files on it, so if you throw in an old camera card remember to delete all files first.

Re: New Software iPhone, Web, and Backup

DJ this is a hot button for me also. Recently Zeo went out of business without any warning to customers. Not only did they not get a chance to download their sleep data, they were rumored to be trying to sell customer data in bulk to get someone to buy the company. I think software ethics is somethi...

That video was awesome DreamDiver, I think you've nailed it! Regarding WiFi comments - have read those threads, just don't think everything has been tried to rule out WiFi as an option. I'm wading in deep with a couple experiments, can't hurt to try. I wanted to clarify what I'm thinking. I might ha...

But I am not the programmer for Onkor, so please pass along your praise to Mike (cpapdork), who deserves...

Re: New Software iPhone, Web, and Backup

Hi Allen, My hopes are to be able to get it working over WiFi. I like Bluetooth in general, but it seems to be limited in the Phillips system. For example it appears their Bluetooth module has a proprietary connector. This means you can only use the Phillips BT module and it's roughly twice as expen...

Onkor is really cool

I actually didn't know about it till now because my prior searches for cpap software only found SleepyHead and Encore. After failing to get in contact with JediMark I feared there were no other cpap developers to talk to . What I like about most about Onkor is that it's clear a lot of thought went i...

Re: New Software iPhone, Web, and Backup

If Internet connectivity was lost you wouldn't lose any data. Say you have no Internet for a week. The idea is data just keeps piling up on the card, and when you're back online everything syncs up again. Even the phone apps would still work, provided your home WiFi network was still working because...
