Re: Muse-Inc Update
Sorry to hear about your woes. But if you go on COBRA there is a reduction in premium that you can apply for. I am on it and my premium would be $300 a month but with the COBRA discount its $97 a month. So I would check into that as soon as you go on COBRA. I know it has been a godsend for me and al...

Re: Sleep Study FINALLY approved
The final update to the story. I had a long talk with my doc and the nurse today. She admitted she let it run too far. After the office manager refused to let the nurse speak with me..she faxed my insurance company a nasty letter letting them know that the answers to ALL their questions were in my c...

Waiting for DME to get approval for equipment now
The DME is now working with my insurance company now to get approval. Now the waiting game begins again. I was really hoping to have the machine by the weekend. I start a new job on Monday and wanted to have gotten at least one decent nights worth of sleep. I called my insurance and was told it can ...

Re: Home Sleep Test or Sleep Lab?
[quote="msradar65" Again my lab is on a nice private quiet building. With first class accommodations! lol Satellite TV, DVD player, Charleston rice beds, plush mattresses....nice bed spreads and pillows, very nice private bath. My friend had one done - in a hospital - she was told to bring her own ...

Re: Home Sleep Test or Sleep Lab?
I am a newbie. I just had my sleep study done on 8/26 and my titration study done on 9/02. I would opt for sleep lab. The lab and the staff where I had my study done were wonderful. Room was nicer than my bedroom. Very comfy. All there machines, wires and stuff...were not fun...but doable. The titra...

Re: Sleep Study FINALLY approved
You know, you could have been a bit easier on the office people... it's quite possible the MD told the nurse (or receptionist?) to just send your records (rather than her trying to find the right info. buried in there) and she may have just tried it that way. It's not necessarily her place to have ...

Sleep Study FINALLY approved
My family doctor ordered a sleep study on 8/17. His nurse who is a total idiot has made a mess of the paperwork. Refusing to send what my insurance company has requested. I finally got enough of the run around between the insurance and the doctors office. I took a day off from work and went to the d...

S9 or S9 Auto set..whats in the box?
I should be hearing from DME company tomorrow. I want the S9 autoset..but will settle for S9. I have already been told S9 is all they use....so what comes in the box? What should I be asking for? Swift LT medium was the mask that fit the best during the titration study. Need suggestions for good sec...

Power outages
I'm a newbie. Still waiting for my machine. What do you do about power outages that occur when sleeping? I don't want to suffocate on this machine if it shuts off. Do the machines have an alarm if they suddenly loose power? Do you use some sort of battery back up? Sorry for all the crazy questions.....

Re: Ears popping!
I am going to ask for a copy of my titration study. It should be ready by Wednesday after the holiday. The sleep center coordinator did my titration study. She is very sweet....but she is not doing study's on a nightly basis. The wires were an uncomfortable mess. She admitted that she may have crank...

Re: Ears popping!
All the paperwork was sent for my sleep study over a week before it was scheduled. The paperwork for the pre-authoriziation was sent the same day as the study was ordered. BCBS of LA is requesting all kinds of crazy stuff. Its written in my policy that my study must be done in a cerified facility. T...

Re: Ears popping!
I am still waiting for my insurance to approve my sleep study. I was told by BCBS of LA that it takes 3 days to get into their fax server and 15 days for them to review the info. So I sit and wait. There 15 days is not up until the 15th day of september. So until that is done I can't get my machine....

Re: Where A CPAP Newbie Should Start
I gave up on CPAP. I may have felt I was being attacled by the machine. I tossed the machine into the wall and woke up when the mask pulled off my face. This happened so often that my bedroom walls need to be repaired. And I am renting! I don't know how to explain the damages to my landlord. I coul...
