Re: Respironics System One Humidifier
Mine seems to work fine, but I have had an issue with rainout at a setting of 4 and after I removed the Aussie hose thinking it would not be needed. After I returned to using the Aussie hose, no more rainout. Respironics should consider a fix to their performance hose with an embedded heated coil, s...

Re: Anecdotal findings from PR System One vs. M Series
As an update to my original post, it turns out the humidity sensors are not sufficient for me to prevent rainout from occuring. I have a humidifier setting of 4 and I'm forced to go back to the Aussie heated hose to totally prevent moisture incursions into my nose or mouth, especially when I'm tempo...

Re: Anecdotal findings from PR System One vs. M Series
Fortunately, I have never experienced the pressure pulses that others have commented on, but unfortunately it appears these pulses are part of the "therapy" and can't be disabled. Perhaps Respironics will make this a patient settable feature in a future release of the firmware, along with a GMT offs...

Anecdotal findings from PR System One vs. M Series
I used an M Series Respironics Bipap Auto for about 5 years prior to getting a new PR System One Bipap Auto and have used the new unit for 5 nights running. Prior to my new machine, I was waking up 2 or 3 times a night for whatever reason. I would fall back asleep eventually and I chalked it up to a...

Re: encore viewer for PR System 1 available
Hi cpapernewbie, I knew that you could change the GMT offset from EncorePro 2.2, but I am told by Respironics tech support that that capability is not available in Encore Viewer 2.0. In my case it doesn't matter because the DME had set the internal clock to the correct time for the Pacific Northwest...

Re: encore viewer for PR System 1 available
I used mine today on my Windows XP machine with a built-in SD card reader and ran it with 3 days worth of data. Very nice product; it reminds me of the old Encore Pro software, except that it is very fast, that I used with my M Series Bipap Auto. I have firmware version 1.22 with no GMT offset avail...

Now may they all come down with sleep apnea and have to deal with DME's.

Re: PR System One Firmware Upgrade - How?
Hello cpaper, Firmware is not quite the same as software that you load either from a CD or a download from another site, therefore it needs to be updated from a hardware connection through a PROM device. The manufacturer can do this, but they won't supply this update service. It would require sendin...

Re: Which BiPAP Machine?
Hi Jimmy, It's unfortunate, and this is really unfortunate, but it depends on which manufacturer's machine best meets with your breathing requirements, and through its algorithm best solves your apnea and hypopnea anomalies. It's really too expensive to experiment, but there's no other way to provid...

Re: New Generation Respironics Bipap Auto is on their website
Thanks for the heads up Laura. I had forgoten that Respironics doesn't provide the software as of yet, and I definitely do want to measure my success with the new machine. With my M series bipap auto, I have the software and I consistently show good results so I'm not too fearful of the new system's...

Alcohol and CPAP
Does having a couple of glasses of wine before you go to bed and put on CPAP equipment help you sleep better or interfere with your sleep?
