Re: resmed s9 machine
S9 Autoset is the best because it has the features of all of them... if they are unwilling to let you get an auto machine, the Elite is the top of line CPAP-only. Avoid either model with Escape in the name.

Re: Mirage Softgel
It sounds like you don't have the cushion fully clipped into the mask frame--there are 3 points where it should click in--the two on the sides where the release clips are, and another clip on the bottom (though it is not a release-clip, it should click in to place).

Re: help with soft gel mask.
The "billowing" effect on the Activa LT cushion is somewhat normal, but it's not very drastic for me. I don't use EPR and I wonder if that makes a difference... so there is not a difference in pressure for inhaling vs. exhaling. Regarding adjusting the headgear for wearing the Activa LT, I leave the...

Re: help with soft gel mask.
You could try the Activa LT cushion as it fits on the same frame as the soft gel... I prefer it because it is so much lighter and I get a better seal. I never get marks--the key to the Activa cushion is to wear it relatively loosely and let the pressure bellow it out to make the seal against your fa...

Re: Nasal spray addiction with CPAP
Have you considered using a full face mask while you wean yourself off of nasal spray? It sounds like you are experiencing rebound effect common with nasal sprays. What about using a neti pot?

Re: 3 months into therapy...
A couple of thoughts... what is your pressure range set to? You say you are averaging 10-10.5... is that your 95% pressure, median, or what? Do you use EPR and what is that set to? The reason I ask about your pressure range and 95% pressure is that if you have the range wide open (e.g., 4 - 20), you...

Re: My first followup with the sleep doc.
Great news!
One question about the AHI--did they get that from reading your machine data? If so, I think you have the wrong machine listed in your profile because the S9 Escape does not have AHI data... you probably have the S9 Elite or S9 Escape Auto instead.

Re: S9 and EPR
EPR negatively affected my AHI even compensating for the drop in pressure on the low end of my pressure range (e.g., normally have 9 as the minimum, set it to 10 with EPR of 1). Since I don't find I need EPR, I don't use it at all.

Re: How long from your PSG to your next appointment?
My doctor met with me right away in the morning after the PSG before I left the sleep lab. Then it took just under 2 weeks to get the equipment approved by insurance and into my hands. I think is on the short end of the timeframe most people wait, though.

Re: Help Us Out...What do you think of Transcend travel CPAP?
Those of us with a prescription for APAP would not be able to buy this (even if we are willing to use CPAP mode for traveling). The price point also seems high... it would be more interesting if it were in the $400-450 range since most people would be buying this on their own without insurance reimb...

Re: S9 working or not
You may legitimately have 0 AHI, in which case the graph will not show up in Rescan. But, I have had it happen once where I had AHI of 0.0 for a week and didn't think it was true because it only has ever happened for a night every so often. Unplugging the machine put the data back to normal for me, ...

The data carries forward from earlier versions--I've never had an issue when upgrading versions of Rescan.kempo wrote:I am using 3.11 with vista 32 bit. Will it screw up the data I already have on my computer if I download the new 3.13? I would hate to lose it.

This part seems key to me:
Why would you not have set the new APAP at the same minimum pressure that was working for you before?ResmedUser wrote:You use an APAP that does not blow at the same minimum pressure as your original APAP and you start feeling bad again.

Re: Resmed ResScan 3.13 for S9 VPAP Auto
It looks like they fixed the bug where the download window wouldn't close that 3.12 had--not sure if others experienced that, but I had to move that window out of the way after downloading.
