Re: Heart palpitations after starting cpap?
I do know that I have slight palpatations and when I got on CPAP my Adrenaline kicked back in. I wasn't getting Adrenaline burst before but after CPAP I did. Probably not related but I thought it might be worth mentioning. I definitely noticed more palpatations with the adrenaline burst, but it went...

Re: Suddenly struggling 6 months in
Also I would say most doctors are way to careful about CA's. I had some at the start of my therapy and they simply went away after about 6 months. haven't had any in 2 years. My brain simply needed to heal. Unless any CA's are both real (not during a wakefullness period that was caused by OSA with t...

Re: Suddenly struggling 6 months in
For me I used to sleep through all my apneas. Once I was actually rested enough I experienced my first gasping wake up from an apnea. Likely pressures just need to be tweaked which these guys are better at helping with.

Re: Is the COVID pandemic making it harder to get CPAP machines and oxygen??
On the plus side since CPAP is effective for less severe cases this means we're less likely to just die in the middle of the night if we catch it. I'd still head into the hospital though in case it takes a turn for the worse.

Re: Is the COVID pandemic making it harder to get CPAP machines and oxygen??
Probably. In fact Cpap is the first line of defense for the less severe patients (according to my mom who is a Nurse). Hospitals have been using CPAP for a long time for this kind of issue (breathing issues due to respiratory illness). So yes likely hospitals arming up for more and more patients, pa...

Re: 7 months in and still feeling tired
Definitely follow the pressure advice. Unless your dealing with a real central problem from increased pressure there's no problem in opening up the top end. (Note there are also fake central problems as some people will register centrals upon waking... except their waking due to not enough pressure)...

Re: new cpap user throat feels swollen
What happens with a chin strip with me is that even though I don't breathe through my mouth and my mouth is closed pressure differential still has air coming into my mouth and leaking out throughout the night. Don't know if you're having that issue but if that's the reason there are a couple other s...

Re: EVIDENCE OF AIRFIT P10 VENT OBSTRUCTION CAUSING HYPERCAPNIA (also N30?)
I did have the condensation problem on the n30 so I turned the heat up a little on the hose... end of problem. (or alternatively could have turned the humidity down. So not a problem? Though notably the N30I has a separate vent on the head so I never felt "hypercapnia"

Re: Help with bridge of nose?
I've had issues with nasal pillows too, it just seems that my thin from side to side, but "tall" nostrils just don't play well with nasal pillows. The smalls are too small and the medium is too big on at least 1 dimension. I find this to be a good alternative in fact I'm in love with it (it lies fla...

Re: My wife has heard me choking/gasping after one year of usage
I find that even when my AHI is low I sometimes have "bad" nights. I think I have enough rest that I wake up and "prevent" longer than 10 second apneas (even if I don't remember "waking up") so even though your numbers are low you might benefit from a higher minimum to prevent sleep disruption from ...

Re: Hypopnea problems
It's not just about sleep, Every time I don't use the machine I'm suffocating multiple times a night and doing brain damage as well as getting spikes of adrenaline to reactivate breathing. When I first used the mask it was diffficult to go back to sleep, I believe it's because my body was trained to...

Re: Nasal Mask vs Face Mask (Newbie)
A couple things. Yes there can be immediate relief, but also keep in mind that typically it takes 1 to 1 1/2 years for the brain to fully recover from untreated sleep apnea according to a least a couple studies. (there is actually a reduction in grey and white matter in the brain during untreated sl...

Re: OT: GERD, Famotidine and loose stools...
Been dealing with loose stools for years. I now take a shake in the morning that has me completely solid every day. 1 scoop of seed fiber from garden of eden, 2 tablespoons of chocolate "nibs" (not the sweet chocolates but basically cracked chocolate beans), 1 table spoon non-alkalized chocolate po...
