Mohs nose surgery

I hope successfully!
Well, it could have gone better, but my nose is still there and functional. Won't be using nasal pillows anymore, though *smile*...but the nasal cradle masks are working just fine for me now.

Re: Question for TapPap users

I used the TAP PAP for a couple months after Mohs nose surgery to avoid headgear, and never really liked the idea of putting my teeth in traction. Or the feeling. Loved not having headgear, though, that was the silver lining. I'm now using an AirFit N30 nasal mask. It's quite comfortable, those nasa...

Re: OSCAR v1.5.1 released - September 23, 2023

Thanks so much for updating this useful program. I have one question, when you already have Oscar on your mac and want to update it, do you have to remove the current version before installing the new one? Or can I just install the new version without removing the old one and it'll all be good? Tha...

Re: Supplement lowering my AHI

Sometimes correlation is easily mistaken for cause. Your AHI may hae been going down as you got your CPAP machine setup honed, get used to your mask, and generally got a good therapy process going. If you're taking a supplement while that's happening, it's tempting to think that the decrease in AHI ...

Re: Events per hour

Have had 0 AHI a few times, but don't really care. Not concerned unless I see it going over 2. Less than 1 is great. Between 1 and 2 is okay, more than 2 and I start thinking about what I did or ate or drank the previous day that might have triggered that. There are some things that I do that are li...

Re: Need help with high leak rate (30 L/m) please

Thank you so much for the great ideas! I will try those masks! The 30-35 L/m number is from my daily report in the Resmed MyAir app. I am relieved to think the pillow type mask can work. Are there any other suggestions for me to try?- ie what if it is me wrestling the mask off while unconscious- an...

Re: Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) and RSV Vaccine

Got all 3 at the beginning of October, since I was going on a trip a couple of weeks later. Which meant more exposure to "out of area" germs *smile*. Anyways, no problems other than the usual shoulder pain where the shots were given, and a little low energy, blah feeling for a couple of days. Still ...

Re: Cervical Collar & Much Higher AHI

Side sleeper here. Had a period of sore neck for about a year or so, and went to a chiropractor for it. Subsequently, got a thicker pillow (for side sleepers with adjustable loft), and voila, no more sore neck, no more chiropractor. Very happy to have found such a simple solution for a problem that ...

Re: How often do you replace your humidifier chamber?

Have had to train both my DME's to only send me supplies when I get in touch. And then only to send what I ask for. Last time around, with a new DME, I requested nasal cushions for my mask, and they sent a heated tube, filters, and nasal cushions...everything went back to them except the nasal cushi...

Re: OT: sleep study

Not sure what gave that impression; I sincerely apologize for my bad wording and bad punctuation. My phrase "as Steerpike58 said he planned to do" was meant to refer merely to your "considering requesting other similar meds." I did not mean in any way to imply thay you planned on hiding anything fr...

. . . going to ask him for some ambien specifically. With every other sleep med I've ever tried, the meds just make me toss and turn, have bizarre thoughts, . . . Please be forthcoming with all medical pros about that! "Individuals who have experienced complex sleep behaviors in the past should not...

Re: OT: sleep study

Yes, my wife just got a sleep study in the local sleep lab a few months ago. What helped me get through my sleep studies was using Ambien...my sleep doctor told me that it doesn't affect the data to any appreciable degree, and it allowed me to sleep in the lab with all the probes and everything *sm...

Thanks for the Mac installation help on how to override the "unknown developer" problem. Installed just fine after following that one.

Appreciate it...I've done that before, but always forget how to do it *smile*.

Re: sleep apnea driver's license rules and laws

Drs are to report Sleep apnea There are no requirements for Maine doctors to report sleep apnea in the document you referenced. This doesn't stop doctors from reporting, but there are no requirements. Yep, just read a boiler plate description of sleep apnea and the potential consequences, therapies...
