Re: Just got a call re my sleep study
You're a lamb going to the slaughter. You're a first time car buyer going. I know that makes me feel better The more you know about the process, the better off it will end. Better to avoid mistakes than try to get them corrected. The information I learned here and elsewhere helped me to minimize is...

Re: My story
I thought I would follow up some 3 weeks into treatment about what it's meant to me and what I've done. I read these threads as I went down the path to treatment and found them very helpful. Before treatment I had an almost constant low grade headache, was aching all over after waking, had yawning s...

Re: Resmed software
A note of caution, if you use ResScan to set the treatment settings for your machine, it will overwrite the card. It does provide a warning before you do so. I haven't bothered to see if that is correct since I have to prove compliance for a work release letter. I can't imagine why you would want to...

Re: Unsupportive Spouse
Help him understand what sleep apnea really is. I know I didn't understand. I do now. My mom still asks how many times I'm getting up at night. I try to tell her that the sleep apnea awakening isn't like her concept of getting up. I tell her that I get sleep, it's rest I'm not getting. I'm sure I'll...

Re: Frustrated with waiting
3 months from making initial appointment to starting treatment. Would have been 2 months except I fired the sleep doc and had to wait 4 weeks to see another one. I had hospital doc referral line try to find someone for me. One doc they tried was booked out for 3 months. Sleep Apnea clearly is becomi...

Re: Just diagnosed...no machine yet!
One detail I've seen repeated is about the use of in-network DME providers. Like everything else, it's what your policy states. My health insurance doesn't require use of an in-network DME. So I used cpap.com and have submitted an insurance claim form with itemized receipt for payment. My insurance ...

Re: OT: Borders to shut all stores
Live near the second store they opened. The sign out front says Borders Book Shop. The store wasn't big enough for all of the sideshows they put on over the years. I buy more specialized books on travel/nature subjects. I loved to browse and impulse buy those kinds of titles. They cut those titles. ...

That certainly doesn't look like my room. In my favor, the mailing boxes have been relocated to the basement. Guess where everything else is.
In the end, the machine, Hose Buddy, and mask will stay where they are on my bed and headboard.

Re: Swift FX Nasal pillow problem
I am using the Hose Buddy with my Swift Fx. Last night the 95% leak value was 0. There was a leak or two. I used the small pillow the first night and the leak rate was a problem. Switched to the medium pillow and that took care of it. I typically start the night on my left side and then switch to th...

Re: POLL: How long do you think you had SA before you 'knew'?
Over the years I've had many instances of my pillow getting soaked from perspiration. While not nearly as common, several times a year I will be rudely awakened by choking. Since I have occasional issues with the sinuses, I always assumed that was the cause. About 2 years ago the feeling began that ...

Re: My story
Machine en route for Saturday delivery at extra charge of course. I will use the software to fine tune things. Since there is a lot of experience here, I figured I would ask rather than starting with the default 4-20 setting. I'm not afraid to make changes. Just hope my new sleep doc understands whe...

My story
Note I actually wrote a part 1 and part 2. But they are long and boring. It's the all too common story of the sleep study game. My first doc actually walked out as I tried to ask questions. It's the all too common story of the DME game. The DME had all the equipment ready including a mask which is ...
