Re: dme provider prices?
Check out some of my other posts for an explanation of how this breaks down. Basically, the insurance companies dicatate exactly how, what and how much the DME company will bill. They have little to no control over the process. Also check and see exactly what was paid. What you see billed is usuall...

Re: dme provider prices?
Now the machines come shipped with a hose for your mask. When they bill your insurance then bill them for a hose, will they hose price was included with the price of the machine when they purchased it. Is that fair and the right way to treat a customer. To me that is like if u buy a car and they we...

Re: Leak Rate - mask removal counted?
hello dreamon, is it possible that the machine is blowing air after the smart start stops at a lower rate I know my autoset does this as a cooling down feature. No, it was going full-on the other night after the mask was removed with SmartStart enabled. I suspect that I just didn't wait long enough...

Re: Leak Rate - mask removal counted?
I thought that perhaps the machine is sophisticated enough to realize that when the air is escaping full-blast that the mask was probably taken off, and it wouldn't count that as a "leak". With the SmartStart setting enabled, your Elite II is sophisticated enough to stop if it detects you have take...

Re: Leak Rate - mask removal counted?
Thanks, all! I'd still turn off the machine first--then disconnect the hose. I'll try it that way again. As I mentioned earlier, when I tried that before (in the middle of the night, mind you), as soon as the machine was turned off the air was sucked out instantly, collapsing the mask. It was very d...

Re: Leak Rate - mask removal counted?
In case you didn't know, you can leave the mask on (just turn off the machine) when you get up and have your potty breaks or what ever. Leaving the mask on won't affect your adjustments or anything--just disconnect the hose from the mask. some masks have a quick connect and some don't--the hose jus...

Re: Leak Rate - mask removal counted?
Thanks, Wulfman and potholerepairman. Yes, my S8 Elite II is fully data capable. It just isn't auto-adjusting, which seems fine for me, especially since my pressure is very low. I've been monitoring the leak rate, AI, HI and AHI via the LCD daily and keeping records of those numbers. So far, so good...

Re: First week was great...but not so much now!
Greetings, boyamitired. I only have four days on CPAP behind me, so I don't have any specific suggestions for you. Pugsy gave you some great advice. I just wanted to offer my encouragement. I hope you let us all know if the source of your "relapse" is figured out. It may help others going through th...

Re: Leak Rate - mask removal counted?
I wondered if others leave their machines blowing or if they turn them off and restart when they return. The machines don't know when we take the mask off to go to the bathroom or we just have it slid over our ears. So your leak rate can be impacted if you leave the machine on when you take a bathr...

Re: Leak Rate - mask removal counted?
Hi everyone, If I remove the mask to get up briefly during the night, leaving the machine running until I return, does that count as part of the reported "leak rate"? Is it better to remove the mask, turn the machine off, and restart when I return? DreamOn (formerly REMDeprived) At the risk of soun...

Re: Maiden Voyage on SS Cpap little choppy!
Is it possible to download a Clinician user guide? I'm not messing with the settings at this point but would love to know what everything means. Love the title of your post, SnoozyWoozyCat! It looks like you can request a free Clinician Guide for the ResMed VPAP Auto via e-mail through this website...

Re: S8 Elite II - Clinical Menus Questions - Newbie Report
My first night stats using the Elite II look good (I think): AHI=1.6, AI=.2, HI=1.4, leak=.06. They don't look just "good." They look great!!! Those are absolutely GREAT numbers. Last night I probably slept about 8 hours. Very good! I've felt great each day! That's what it's all about. ~ DreamOn (f...

S8 Elite II - Clinical Menus Questions - Newbie Report
Hello everyone, I just finished Night 3 of CPAP therapy. I used a loaner ResMed Escape machine for the first two nights, since my DME supplier had to order my ResMed S8 Elite II. I received the S8 Elite II yesterday, so last night was my first using that. I can find my way around both the Clinical a...
