Re: No more sleep meds for me !
kteague, I really think PLMD is the culprit in my case. Unfortunately, IMO, its a little harder to treat than Apnea. I've gone thru the list of meds usually prescribed for the condition, clonapan, requip, mirapax, gabapenten, et. al., forgive if the list isn't complete and the spelling's off. Here's...

Re: No more sleep meds for me !
Spirit, I've just read most of your posts and I can sympathize. I've suffered from fatigue for 10 years or so, can never sleep more than 6 hours. Like you, about 6 am my eyes "pop open" and I have to get up. It doesn't really matter what time I go to bed, I can't sleep in. About 8 years ago, I had m...

Re: ASV: Hypopnea Index Remains High
Brian, Hi. Wow, what a thread! I'm not an expert, nor a medico, but I have suffered from disturbed sleep for more than 10 years and like everyone else I've been searching for the magic bullet that will give me that refreshing sleep we all want. Let me throw a few things out there for your considerat...

Re: More fatigue after using CPAP
Hi, Bill. I agree with the others that it's too early to tell. Personally, I have not seen a great deal of improvement in 3+ years of cpap. I can tell you this though, you have to become proactive in your own treatment - the sooner the better. Start by reading all the articles at the bottom of Jankn...

Re: AHI Graph question
Re: http://www.idatek.com/apnea/AHI2.pdf Do I have this right? From Russell's Data in the hour from 0000 to 0100, he had 5 total events: 4 hypopneas and 1 apnea, the apnea lasting for 16 seconds? That would fit well with the flat topped portion of his AHI vs events per hour graph for the same period...

Re: ACR38U-SPC-R Generic Smart Card Reader for ResScan S8
Bill, what does your windows 7 machine call the ACR38 when it is installed - looking under Start/Devices and Printers? Mine is labled "CCID USB Reader" even though I am using what I believe to be PC/SC driver. By the way, I've used the ACS utility and it finds the ACR 38 successfully. My guess is th...

Re: Anyone using Provigil or Nuvigil?
I've used Provigil on an "as needed" basis for few years. It does make me more alert and better able to focus. I haven't seen any terrible side effects published and the only side effect I've noticed personally is that is makes me extremely talkative. Like you, I don't like to take medicines I don't...

ACR38U-SPC-R Generic Smart Card Reader for ResScan S8
Has anybody got the newer generic readers to work? Should be a simple software solution either to ResScan or to the reader, but I don't know how to do it. I loaded ResScan 3.14 onto my windows 7 computer. The only problem with the installation was that it couldn't install the drivers. Apparently, th...
