Re: Beginning to question my DME provider
In my (not so) humble opinion, selling a newbie a dataless brick just because s/he doesn't throw a hissy-fit and insist on a full efficacy data machine is a bit like telling a newly diagnosed insulin-dependent diabetic to "just take the insulin and don't worry about checking the blood sugar numbers...

Re: Blue Tape leaks--lip puffing
I'm allergic to medical paper tape. Any more ideas? I too couldn't use blue tape due to my slobbering. I use 2" 3M Microfoam tape. I bought my first roll at a local medical supply (kind of expensive). Once I knew that it would hold all night, I now purchase it from Amazon by the six-roll case. I ge...

Re: NonVented FFM by ResMed. Dangerous?
So if mouth taping is so dangerous, what do you think about ResMed's nonvented full face masks? Are they dangerous? I went to: http://www.resmed.com/us/products/quattro_fx_nv/quattro-fx-nv.html?nc=patients and saw this: "The unobtrusive solution for noninvasive ventilation Not designed for CPAP or ...

Re: Just bought SD card and downloaded SleepyHead, HELP??
No, I can see the SleepyHead box thingy - I copied and pasted below what I'm reading in this box, but I have no clue what to do now, lol. I have my card plugged into SD card reader and into computer, but now I have no idea what I'm suppose to do now. I cant believe over 70 people have viewed my pos...

Re: Makeshift Anti-asphyxiation Valve for Pillows, Sort of
Very creative and well thought out! I'm fortunate enough not to be a mouth breather, but I'd happily borrow your design if I was and needed to tape. Thank Joe. I spent a lot of time on the original post and hoped someone could use it. As far as I am concerned, I only need to worry about aspiration ...

Re: Anti-asphyxiation Valve for Pillows
... I’ve ordered a 120 db power failure alarm which should give my wife a heart attack when it sounds. I may have over-bought since a smoke detector's sound is ~85 db @ 3 meters. It will not be mounted by my bed. Earl I received my power failure alarm today from Hong Kong. http://www.ebay.com/itm/w...

Another anecdotal story, not with Alzheimer's but with a 20 y.o. young man with a severe birth defect. I've read his mom's blog for years and am amazed by her dedication.

Thanks. Rescue tape is a new product for me. Doesn't seem that many years ago that we had only black friction tape.HoseCrusher wrote:That looks great.... "Rescue Tape" may help those who are not familiar with working with heat shrink tubing.

I printed off a copy of CPAP.COM's standard prescription form http://c0149421.cdn.cloudfiles.rackspacecloud.com/CPAP-Prescription-LMN.pdf and had my family doctor sign it. Makeshift Anti-asphyxiation Valve for Pillows, Sort of
[Edit 7/13: Switched photo links from Google to Photobucket] Well, as you can guess by the title, I am one of those “dare-devil” mouth tapers. In the past year, I have done much reading on this site and learned a lot. Yes, I paid attention to Arch when he warned of the dangers of taping. I believe t...

My setup, exactly. My hose then goes up and around the bedpost.
