I vote for "enough already"! Since Guest seems to have a basic need to feel superior to the rest of us mortals, he (it sounds like a "he") will never give up.

We know what we're dealing with and throwing stones doesn't chanage things.

[quote="Slinky"]What all this goes to show is that it is to a person's advantage to educate themselves BEFORE accepting ANY xPAP equipment. And that means learning and KNOWING your DME coverage with your insurance company(ies), DISCUSSING your xPAP needs w/your sleep doctor, COMING TO AN AGREEMENT o...

Good morning, folks! I think there are as many experiences with DME's as there are numbers. Mine was very helpful ... met with R/T immediately after sleep lab and went home with machine the same day. She had already gotten insurance authorization before meeting with me, helped me with fitting mask a...

I've heard that some people just don't like the memory foam mattresses. I wasn't sure I liked mine for the first several weeks but then settled in and am now happy with it.

Perhaps it's a bit like face masks ... one kind doesn't suit everyone

I have a tempurpedic deluxe and enjoy it. It's never gotten too hot only here in Northern New England, winter nights get cold enough that I pre-warm the mattress on very low heat setting to it isn't a block of cement, lol! I also have a "supreme" sleep number bed (has both memory foam and zone foam ...

We are fortunate that our host doesn't censor the board, but people are taking advantage of that. I ran into a situation a few years ago on a Cigar forum and the host had to shut it down because of liability issues. Oceanpearl, That would be an incredible waste! I have read many very helpful posts ...

Darthlucy, I agree. It would, IMHO, also be more likely that someone would discontinue therapy if problems occur after self-diagnosis and treatment than when properly diagnosed. Auto paps could, perhaps, be useful for titration of pressures *after* a sleep study to diagnose OSA. I don't think I'd wa...

[quote="oceanpearl"]My question is, what if this person has CSA as opposed to OSA??
When we start recocomending that someone try a CPAP machine without consulting a doctor we are getting on dangerous ground and it wouldn't suprise me if our host shut the site down due to liability questions.

Yea I wasnt smart enough to even get a sleep study done. I have a high deductible insurance so i took the matter in my own hands. Better than ignoring it... Crazybimmer, that's not a matter of "smarts". I am *not* a doctor but do work in medical research. I did a very brief search of the medical li...

LCD 7-day averages

If I had access to ahi and leaks only and no abitlity to change my machine, I would be TOTALLY OK WITH THAT. It would clearly mean that I would have to consult with a doc and bang them over the head with my needs, but I would accept that. My machine does display these things but the lcd display is ...

I use MindManager through my job and find it helps me organize my ideas (such as they are!) and thoughts (what thoughts?). For those of us that are visual thinkers, it's nearly indispensible. I am luckily able to get it at an academic discount. Since I spent many, many years as a software programmer...

Software

Thanks from this newbie for the background on the software issues. One possibility I've thought of is a simple spreadsheet with formulas to take the 7-day and 30-day data and decompose it into daily data. However, it wouldn't be quite as useful as the card data and it would be a bit of a pain to ent...

Software

Hi,

I'm a new user ... Respironics M-series with AFlex, just finished third night and think I'm starting to feel better.

I'd very much like to get my hands on Encore Pro 1.8 so I can see better how I'm doing.

Any ideas on how/where to get it?

thanks!
