What does this mean?
I'm using a System One with humidifier and a heated tube. The manual says something about the "classic style of basic temperature controlled heated humidification..." What does that mean? Actually, I woke up just now because the air getting to my nose and mouth was too warm. How do I reduce the temp...

Re: Replacement Humidifer Chamber Question
I don't know what it's for, but you might want to keep it as a backup in case the cover you're using develops a crack or gets moldy... nearly impossible to replace just a cover, I would think. (1) I never throw anything away. (2) If it's not meant for my model System One, could I do damage if I use...

Re: Dealing with Dry Mouth
Ever tried Biotene mouth rinse before bed? It's made for dry mouth relief. I use it every night and it helps a little bit with my dry mouth issues. Do you usually sleep with your mouth open? I.e., is that why you have dry mouth? Or do you suffer from low "saliva generation"? Does Biotene keep your ...

It would be terrific if someone summarized all of the accumulated wisdom and made a separate read-only thread.OboeVet wrote:Search this forum for "dry mouth" and you will get lots of info.

Replacement Humidifer Chamber Question
I just received a replacement humidifier chamber from my SystemOne system. I contained two tops. One was a duplicate of what I had. What is the other one for?

Re: Cleaning PR System one Humidifier
I suppose someone could be selling distilled water that isn't distilled, but ... There's been some speculation that the US allows manufacturers to label non-distilled water as "distilled" as long as it meets some sort of "equivalent to distilled" quality standard. I haven't seen any reliable source...

That's strange. I do the same thing and I get build-up.nelamvr6 wrote:All I do with mine is empty it every morning and put it upside down on top of a paper towel. I've never had any build-up of any kind. But I always use distilled water also, I'm sure that helps.

Re: Pulse Ox Levels
In the study the average age of the AHI > 30 group was 50. If we add 12 years to that you come up with 62. Since you are older than that you may have something good going for you. Who knows... 77 may be the "new" 50. Myopathy can be aggravated by inflammation and toxins in the body. With regular xP...

Re: Pulse Ox Levels
That is a very interesting study... http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2542952/ With an average of 50 it appears that you can actually survive a little over 12 years with a high AHI before you drop off the cliff. It is amazing that the body can handle that much punishment before the accumu...

I suspect that that was occurring for a period of months, perhaps years. Is it a miracle that I did not have a stroke or a heart attack? Well, I would not call that a "miracle", per se, cause actually the odds are (were) with you that you would get this far: http://www.primaryissues.org/pi-images/A...

Re: Pulse Ox Levels
Further, target organs do not extract oxygen equally. Specifically, the heart and brain pull most of the oxygen off of the Hb they see. Consequently, they are more susceptible to lower O2 saturations. Then you can add in other risk factors, like coronary artery narrowing from a steady diet of bacon...

Re: Pulse Ox Levels
what about a "stress test" - is this not where you exercise to induce stress by working harder and to lower the oxygen levels in the blood to see how the heart reacts to it? https://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/health/health-topics/topics/stress/ I get a stress test every other year. I suppoe I could ask them...
