Re: Left DME without machine :(

As for the mask - tell them you want the Nuance Pro. The Pro has the gel cheek pads - it's what I use (thanks to Pugsy's good advice) and I LOVE my mask. If you can somehow convey to your supplier that you share their interest in meeting insurance requirements for compliance they should quiet down a...

Re: Orthodontics can cause sleep apnea - Class Action Lawsuit

Not sure how I feel about a class action lawsuit. On the one hand I'm sure there was no intentional harm done. On the other hand I know that nothing spreads knowledge faster than financial liability.

Re: First night

Closing out this post which now should be titled "First WEEK" heheh

Ending with a high note - last night I slept nearly 8 hours with AHI of 3.94. I feel good today. Now onward.

Re: Constant confusion/forgetfulness

Yes - this is precisely why my doctor ordered my home sleep study. I felt stupid... couldn't retain new information, became easily overwhelmed trying to follow instructions (especially verbal instructions) - it's a terrible feeling and you're not alone. Being young, you might need to push hard to ge...

Re: First night

Well, this was weird night. Even though the machine didn't record arousals, I woke a couple times - aware that air was being rushed into my nose, but also aware that I wasn't breathing. When I realized it, I took a breath and went back to sleep. But these didn't last long... the longest central was ...

Re: First night

OK I've increased the min pressure to 5. we'll see how that goes tonight. I'm using a windows 8 tablet. Some of the slide bars aren't working for me in the Sleepyhead software... but I see what you mean by scrunching those graphs. I did today's in portrait mode. I'll go back to the landscape going f...

Re: First night

A couple thoughts... I've been napping 2-3 times a day for months. Yesterday I pledged to stay awake. Now sometimes I have what I call "involuntary naps" where i fall asleep in my chair and don't realize I've slept till I wake up. That happened yesterday morning - so my pledge didn't work out so wel...

Re: First night

Last night felt a bit rough... but mostly because I woke once and thought I might not be able to get back to sleep. A few minutes watching tv reminded me that I was still tired. heheh I'm still having events all through the night... http://i1255.photobucket.com/albums/hh635/altate62/062014_zps75fa6b...

Re: First night

I'll keep an eye on it the next few days. It was likely REM cause I felt like I slept deeply last night

Re: First night

Just so you know - the graphs look very similar the past two nights. I've noticed the hypopneas and centrals for a year or so but didn't know what it was. Almost like I just forget to breathe. But I'm not waking up with them on cpap so that's better.

Re: First night

What a difference! My nostrils are happy LOL i had basically zero leaks, no arousal, turned from side to side without having to touch my mask or headgear... got a good nights rest. Now i can focus on the real reason for having cpap. I seriously can't thank you enough for the encouragement. I share m...

Re: First night

I picked up the new mask this morning. When I did the fitting (ignoring their "shove and tighten advice) it felt SO much better. So soft! It doesn't even hurt on the spots that are sore from the first mask I'll try it out when i hit nap time in a bit. I did let the DMS know that the other one is a t...

Re: First night

I called - they have the nuance pro so I'm going to swap out for that... May wait till tomorrow to get over there. It does look a LOT more comfortable!

Thanks for helping. So much to take in with a sleep deprived brain. Heheh
