Re: Descaling a water tank

If distilled water is used, no lime/scale will build up at all. Your choice. White vinegar is your friend when cleaning lime/scale from either your coffee maker or your CPAP water reservoir. A 50/50 mix is what's needed for the coffee maker, been doing this for years. White vinegar ...

... parts are a cash cow for DMEs and it's profit driven. Most of us long time cpap users have come up with our own schedules for cleaning and/or replacing anything and it's a far cry from what DMEs say. Funny how the DME suggest schedule happens to match how often insurance will ...

Is the foam some sort of gasket or what?

What did you use to soak your stuff in?

As was previously requested, go a few nights without it and see what happens. You may be pleasantly surprised. Again, some ...

... better today. Maybe it was loosening the tension. I should get the new mask soon and try that and see which I like better. It might have different cleaning instructions. I do get bloodwork done. I know about B6 toxicity and its association with PN and don't supplement with that.

Re: What is the best nasal CPAP mask for not leaking?

I used to soak it in a warm water solution for about 20 minutes every week. I've not been good about cleaning it so after 10 days or so it keeps slipping around and I've not been as happy about it. I'm just about to go back to cleaning it once a week.

I have the Philips Respironics DreamWisp Nasal cushion cpap mask. It works pretty well as long as I'm pretty good about cleaning the cushion.
Curious what you mean by "pretty good". Do you clean it every day as the manufacturer says? Once a week? Less often? Thanks.

Re: Resmed F30 elbow leak.

Three F30 masks in about 5 years (if I remember correctly), side sleeper, and that's never happened to me. I discovered that cleaning the elbow by soaking it in a denture cleaner solution, and then rinsing thoroughly does a great job of unclogging. And I can promise you my first elbow ...

I put a standard humidifier tank in the dishwasher

Okay, I'm a rebel. A persistent bout of bronchitis has had me reevaluating my cleaning schedule (almost never). I cleaned pillows, mask tube, hose, and changed the filter before looking at the tank. It was rather limey, so I tried a vinegar soak. After a few hours, ...
