Re: What do I need to do start getting better results?
I have been diagnosed with Sleep Apnea for a long long time and have been "using" a CPAP machine, But this morning I overslept and woke up feeling very poorly., So I decided to look at my Dream Mapper CPAP report and was horrified. My average usage over the last 14 days is 3 hrs. 48 mins and my AHI...

Re: Does active usage of cpap lower resting heart rate?
Are you taking any meds which can reduce hrart rate? There is a class of blood pressure meds that does that. Have you done complete blood exams? Thyroid, vitamins, hormones, etc You mention low AHI but you can have poor sleep with low AHI. You're waking up way too much during the night.(8 to 10??) D...

Re: Help with VERY dry mouth.
I have an Air Touch F20, foam full face mask, after switching from the soft Vinyl lined, mask... My mouth is so dry that I wake at night and it is horrible in the morning. Any ideas on a possible solution? I switch from the Vinyl mask due to the constant fluttering of the sides at night-- did not e...

Re: How to keep my mouth open
Nasal polyps and a deviated septum. Then when my mouth closes or my oral airway gets blocked the Resmed Apap sees tons of flow limitation and it thinks that can be fixed by increasing the pressure to maximum. Im posting this again as I woke up this morning feeling worse than I have done for ages. S...

Re: Please Help! Chipmunk cheeks waking me up despite taping mouth shut
I spent 4 years with poor therapy because of large mouth leaks. Mouth would open when I fell asleep and leak thus waking me up. I only noticed these brief awakenings when sleeping in hotels. Last year I bought the Resmed f30 which is small and feels like a nasal mask and it fixed my large leaks. Mou...

Re: Dust filter degradation
If you have allergies like me, I recommend the original hypoallergenic filters from Resmed. They don't need any special settings to work properly. Use them just like the regular filters.

Re: Mouth exercises
Hello everyone: From time to time I come across a video with various exercises to strengthen different parts of the tongue and oral cavity to help in the battle against sleep apnea. The better ones don't claim that all will be well after doing a few of these exercises and you can then throw away yo...

Re: What's the best CPAP machine?
For the more knowledgeable users, wouldn't the best machine (disregarding price) be an Resmed auto ASV? because it can be configured to perform like any of the simpler machines: CPAP, APAP, etc.

Re: Getting Used to Nasal Masks
If this is the case.... I am new to CPAP - been using it for 19 days now. My original mask is the F20 and I have had very good luck with it so far with minimal leaks, low AHI and I find it very easy to breath with it. ...Why switch???? It does sound like a case of "don't fix what's not broken" unle...

Re: Help with my Airfit F20 mask leaks
I am a newbie of 3 weeks. I have a airfit F20 mask. Every night I have air leaks even though the resumed machine says my seal is good. I wake up to either farting sounds or rushing wave type sounds. I tighten my straps. I Loosen my straps. I got another size mask to see if that made a difference. I...

Re: Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset - endless DRONING
I'd guess it's a defect as I never noticed any significant difference in noise levels when I used any of the following: S9, S8, philips system one and the Airsense 10. Moreover, my AIrsense 10 developed a high pitched whining sound when breathing after 6 months from the date of purchase. It was repa...

Re: a thin line between dry mouth and rainout
In case it helps, here is a table from Resmed indicating the real humidity of the settings and their recommended temperatures to avoid rainout. I found these when experimenting with the heated hose. In my case (room A/C set to 72F / 22C), using the slimline hose and setting of 7 provides with me mo...

Re: ResMed F30 AirFit Mask Fit
Im having a hell of a time getting a good mask fit with the F30. See SleepHQ data below. I have tried numerous adjustments. Seems like it leaks around my nose area ever so slightly and sometimes my chin area. I find myself waking up to readjust it often. Anyone have a similar issue with the F30? An...

Re: Flow limitations resistant to pressure?
Anything else I can do to my therapy? I wonder why the flow limitations persist even when the machine spikes the pressure to 15. I have moderate nasal congestion which I control with a steroid nasal spray (its commercial name is Veramyst/Flonase in USA) and I don't feel it's that bothersome. You ma...
