Re: Respironics DreamWear Gel Nasal pillow mask review thread
Thanks for the quick reply! And wow! I'm just... kinda gobsmacked here. And I have... now more questions! Doesn't this drive anyone else nuts with regards to a large, focused jet of air? Why are there two exhaust holes vs. just one at the top of the head? It feels like I'm getting a lot less air in...

Re: ASV vs CPAP etc. for OSA - greater tolerability ???
I'm mostly a lurker on this forum and seldom comment, but maybe my experience will help enlighten on the ASV use. I was diagnosed with moderate sleep apnea via a home sleep test in 2017. I was then scheduled for a titration night at a local sleep lab. I think the machine used was some model of Respi...

Re: Resmed p30i frame and pillows
It is printed either Standard or Small just below the elbow connector on the rounded part of the frame on the back side.

Re: Cleaning the P30i pillow filter?
I also soak and rinse the frame tubes, and if my wife isn't watching, sling it around a bit as if it is a lasso. If I squeeze on the hard ends of the tube where the pillows piece fits in (as if to make it more round), the pillows part comes out easily.

Re: Cleaning the P30i pillow filter?
Thanks! I had not seen that discussion. Out of curiosity, I actually slide the fiber pad out of an old P30i pillows diffuser. Not too difficult with a small knife blade. What was kind of disconcerting was the the fiber pad actually had black spots at the positions of each hole in the plastic. Sort o...

Re: Cleaning the P30i pillow filter?
Just ran across the Resmed video for removing the diffuser filter from the P30i: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PSEfE-F-_8o Also Jason (LankyLefty) did a review of the Airfit P30i on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3SNoDqOXiFE&t=7s If you look closely, it looks like he has removed the fibe...

Re: ResMed P30i user review
I had the same issue with the strap on the standard frame - fastening the ends well into the split part. I was using the P10 until I had several events with re-breathing CO2 with the P10 with a plugged vent, so I gave up on the P10. What I really like is the P30i has the vent diffuser built into the...

Re: ResMed P30i user review
Time for an update! While I had used the P30i continuously with the exception of going back to the Dreamwear nasal cushion and the P10 for a couple nights each to "test" for leaks, I have an update worth reporting. One of my complaints about the original N30i was the headgear seemed too stretchy. E...

Re: Cleaning the P30i pillow filter?
I use the P30i and have had the vent diffuser out. Just stretch the soft silicone away from it and it will pop out. Be sure to make note of the orientation. The hard plastic filter and the soft silicone both have notches and tabs that need to match up when you put it back in. It seems fairly solid, ...

Re: ResMed P30i user review
Actually, cpap.com shows frame sizes of "Standard" or "Small". I believe the thinking is that the accordian top part of the frame can stretch enough for larger heads.

Re: new ASV users
. . . treatment was very much by the book. . . . said I would need to have an echocardiogram done first because it would be dangerous to use ASV if I had CHF . . . Interesting. I wonder whose book, exactly, that was done by. :) dunno, but seemed to go pretty smoothly compared to what I have read ot...

Re: new ASV users
Has anybody had to get an echocardiogram before being prescribed an ASV in the last few years? My diagnosis and treatment was very much by the book. I'm on medicare and in Oct., 2017 during a routine primary care doctor visit, the Dr. observed that my throat was shaped in a way common to sleep apne...
