Re: How accurate are the home sleep studies and are they really necessary?

I really cranked it up 2 nights ago. 12/20 Makes a helluva racket, but I guess that's what works. Plus, it tends to blow out the top a bit across my eyes. It's hard to get it to seat correctly at 12. Last night about 2 am, I threw it on the ground about 2 am and my wife couldn't get me to put it bac...

Re: How accurate are the home sleep studies and are they really necessary?

I just had the best nap ever. If it was like this at night, I would be great. Now, the time stamp is wrong, because it is graphing out to 730 and it's only 630 right now. At least it's not so choppy. Still got a shit score though, 20.42, worse than last night. I think I feel asleep about 330 and wok...

Re: How accurate are the home sleep studies and are they really necessary?

I meant maybe I forgot to shut off the machine, when I took the mask off my face. The mask was on the floor. My wife tried to get me to put it on, but I wouldn't wear it. But, the graph does look like it was being worn. I wasn't wearing it from 630-8. It may have been pushing air, but the mask was ...

Re: How accurate are the home sleep studies and are they really necessary?

I forgot the proper structure for the screenshot. I made a new one that is hopefully easier to read. Thanks for the help on a Saturday morning, really appreciate it.

Settings are 9/20 with EPR at 2.

Re: How accurate are the home sleep studies and are they really necessary?

I set the machine to 9/20 and EPR at 2.

At 630 my work alarm went off and I cancelled it, took off the mask, and slept until 8, so I don't know why it was still recording, maybe I left it on when I took it off.

Re: How accurate are the home sleep studies and are they really necessary?

I'm back. I got stuck in that damned Full Screen toggle nonsense. Took a while to figure out the F11 deal, I banged on it, and now it works. Last night was better, it felt a bit better anyway. My settings are 9/16 with EPR set to 1. I think I like that EPR. You can't tell it does anything at low num...

Re: How accurate are the home sleep studies and are they really necessary?

Now, if I had just bought the machine used, I would have spent half as much, and would still be at the same point in my therapy, asking questions of strangers. The strangers will quickly become friends. :) Is this DUG guy calling us * STRANGE *???? hrmph. I have no doubt that you are strange, you w...

Re: How accurate are the home sleep studies and are they really necessary?

You suggested I save the EPR as a next possible step, so I left it off.

MyAir doesn't explain the AHI score, just gives a total.

My average is 10 AHI, so even for me, 29.3 is a big number.

Re: How accurate are the home sleep studies and are they really necessary?

Good morning. Changed my settings to 8/14 and I thought I had a pretty decent sleep. My AHI on the MyAir machine says 29.3. The second worst score I have recorded. Looks like my seal wasn't very good last night, 15/20, when I normally get 20/20 in that department. I thought I had an above average ni...

Re: How accurate are the home sleep studies and are they really necessary?

I haven't tried the EPR setting. I read online that EPR doesn't really do much, for most users. For lack of a better description, my breaths did not feel "satisfying" with it on. I know exactly what you mean. And it gets worse if I get a little panicky. It feels like if my lungs or chest were just ...

Re: How accurate are the home sleep studies and are they really necessary?

I don't know about demanding things. I told them that I will destroy them, their children, and everyone they hold dear, while screaming into the phone and cursing them. They weren't impressed, more annoyed than anything. The tech is going to request them from the ether, hopefully get approved by the...

Re: How accurate are the home sleep studies and are they really necessary?

only valuable info I have had so far, is this forum, and it's free! What? You mean, no one here has told you about the "suggested donation" thing yet? If someone needs donations, I'll donate. But, now that you say that, I think cpap.com sponsors the site, in order to make sales. So, I'll sh...

Re: How accurate are the home sleep studies and are they really necessary?

I don't have any graphs from the titration at all. I only have a summary that the sleep testing center sent to my GP. I'm not positive, but I think it says they wanted to start my machine 5 min 10 max. What sense does that make? I guess they expected me to go to the DME and have them adjust it every...
