Re: Best online vendor to get an ASV?
I have never used or seen the AirCurve 10 ASV but it was my understanding that the algorithm didn't change with the model version change. Go here and request the provider manual for the ResMed S9 model 36037 but I believe all the same settings as with the AirCurve 10. https://www.apneaboard.com/adj...

Best online vendor to get an ASV?
I'm saving up to get a new or lightly used AirCurve 10 ASV. Is Secondwind still the go-to place for one or are there other reliable suppliers that may have it even cheaper?

Re: Am I developing complex apnea?
*shrugs* More EPR = More PS (the point of bilevel) = more ventilation, and that may mean more centrals as the respiratory drive is depressed. It's an easy test to see if it makes a difference. You chose to start a new thread, instead of continuing any previous issues, so there's nothing handy to lo...

Re: What kind of machine for UARS?
Hey there. I'm in a very similar position as you. I've deliberated on the same question, too. I'm the same age as you and started developing chronic fatigue a couple of years ago when I was diagnosed with OSA and started waking up a few times consistently every night. I most likely don't have CFS bu...

Re: Am I developing complex apnea?
All right, but I only started experimenting with EPR with the help of an online forum after years of terrible sleep and declining health with EPR turned off. I feel the EPR helps with the UARS. I was waking up a lot more with EPR lower than 3 and had a lot more aerophagia. My flow rate with lower EP...

Am I developing complex apnea?
I've never had restful sleep for the past 4 years since being diagnosed with moderate OSA with frequent arousals and awakenings literally every night with CPAP. Last night my central index in SH went up to 4.47. Most of the centrals aren't triggered by disturbed breathing and they've all gone up in ...

Ratty flowrate clusters with APAP
I get these extremely ratty looking clusters that last anywhere from a couple of minutes to 40 minutes sometimes with more normal looking breaths in between. What is happening? Exhale pressure intolerance and/or obstruction while mouth breathing? I use a FFM and sometimes mouth breath. https://i.img...

Re: Mystery solved! ever heard of "palatal prolapse" (new article)?
pharyngeal flap surgeries that may contraindicate PAP therapy (IDK, I'm seeing people on forums who've done UPPP and still use PAP), If that statement was based on mine earlier, it doesn't represent exactly what I said. UPPP is listed at times as a contraindication for APAP , but it is not, to the ...

Re: Mystery solved! ever heard of "palatal prolapse" (new article)?
I realize this is marginally derailing or maybe not since MMA increases maxillary space and the distance between the velum and the velopharynx, but Snoregone, how are you faring with your jaw after all these years? Did you run into any complications so far with TMJ, dental health, infections, etc? H...

Re: Mystery solved! ever heard of "palatal prolapse" (new article)?
You don't mean to imply that surgical interventions and PAP therapy are mutually exclusive, right? Nothing in my quoted comments implies that, but it is true that palate surgeries are considered a contraindication for APAPs that use flow shapes to discern airway status. I don't know if jaw surgery ...

Re: Mystery solved! ever heard of "palatal prolapse" (new article)?
Really interesting thread. My dad has similar obstructive patterns. Any updates on your progress, yrnkrn? Recognizing the location and mechanism of airway narrowing and airflow routing may be interesting, but it is, to the best of my knowledge, not significant for titration of airway-pressure-based ...

Re: Should I get a bilevel or ASV?
Thanks for clearing things up. Distinguishing between recovery breaths vs. disturbed breaths – Fair enough. I guess trying to figure out what’s what and what’s behind each arousal episode is the name of the game. I was ignorantly using a catch-all term for large swings in the flowrate. My bad. Well,...
