Re: First night with a CPAP....ugh

I'm only a month ahead of two of you in this thread and have had some of the same experiences. My first piece of advice (even as a newbie) is to hang in there! I've been working through some issues and probably will have to work through more. But I'm determined to make this work because I imagine I'...

Re: Economical Ways of Cleaning CPAP Masks

After seeing these replies, maybe I'm cleaning my mask too often!! I am a newbie with the CPAP (1 month) and a week ago switched from the Nasal mask to a full face mask. I've been cleaning it every morning with dawn liquid detergent. Maybe I'm working too hard! :)

Re: Recently switched to full face mask - question

Yes, I do move around at every opportunity. But I used to wake up probably 20-30 times per night and so would change positions a lot. Now, when my AHI is low (like the last 2 nights), I only wake up a handful of times through the night, which means I'm in each particular position a lot longer than I...

Re: Recently switched to full face mask - question

Everyone, Well, the short story is that I went ahead and put my machine on Auto instead of just the straight 8.0 pressure that they had it set to. I'm sure I'll get talked to by the doctor or respiratory therapist about not changing my own settings, but oh well. Prior to changing it to auto, the ful...

Help with redness below mouth

Hi everyone. I'm a newbie here and have only been on a CPAP machine for 1 month. I just switched to a full face mask a week ago and now have two red patches under the corner of each side of my mouth. As gross as it sounds, I'm pretty sure it's from drooling a little bit at night. I don't drool much ...

Re: Recently switched to full face mask - question

Hi Matt. Yes, I'm pretty sure I'm getting a good seal. I feel all around the outside of the mask and don't feel any leakage. Here is something that is strange though. First of all, my AHI numbers were between 2 and 3 (per hour) for about three weeks while on the nasal mask. Now, while on the full fa...

Re: Recently switched to full face mask - question

Thanks very much for the responses. I greatly appreciate it. I talked to my equipment provider and he said to give it a few days and then he'll change the pressure from 8.0 to maybe 10.0 to see how I do. I know I can change it myself (I found the way to access it online), but I'm not sure if they/he...

Recently switched to full face mask - question

Hi everyone. I'm a new user. Wow, lots of information in this forum! I am recently diagnosed with sleep apnea and have had a Dreammaker CPAP machine for about 3 weeks. The first week I had a nasal mask and slept great. Around 3.5 - 4 hours and only woke up once at night to use the bathroom and then ...
