Re: On the brink of desperation - Can not stay asleep still
There is another aspect to this to consider. If it turns out to be true that it’s the higher air pressure that is waking you up, then the recommendations to narrow the range are good. But also consider this, you can lower the pressure range even more and let your AHI go up a little bit. An AHI score...

Re: Concern with Central Apnea
I believe your two questions were already answered above. When you’re down in the 5-6 AHI range, the ratio of centrals-to-obstructives doesn’t matter from a health standpoint. And for many of us, a pressure range is much more effective than a single pressure. My doctor had me on a pressure of 18 bas...

Re: Concern with Central Apnea
Sorry to hear about your medical issues but I’m glad you’re now on CPAP therapy. Here’s some perspective. 1) You need a lot more than a night or two on a given setting. AHI scores vary a lot from day-to-day. So while I know you’re anxious about your settings, you have to give each setting a week or ...

12-V Power Adapter for AirSense 10
I just spent 30 minutes searching the forum for this answer but didn’t find it. :-( I just switched from a ResMed S9 to the AirSense 10. We spend five months/year in our RV. I have ResMed’s 12-24 volt power supply for the S9. But since the AirSense has a barrel plug, the S9 3-pin plug won’t work. Se...

Cpaptalk.com vs Apneaboard.com
I am curious about the difference(s) between these two groups, cpaptalk.com and apneaboard.com. I’m interested in learning but there are a lot of posts on each website and I’m not sure I’m interested enough to follow both. Is there a good reason to follow one versus the other? Thanks.

Re: HELP - feeling overwhelmed and like I'm going to fail
Back to the comments about nasal pillows. 1) I find I can use a lower pressure with a nasal pillow than with a full face mask. You may be able to back off the pressure a little bit with a nasal pillow. 2) You don’t have to get to the lowest possible AHI. Just an improved AHI is better than nothing. ...

Re: What's a "clear airway" and why does it show up ?
I suspect it's because I reset my max and minimum pressure a couple of months ago, so maybe the maximum pressure is too high (the minimum pressure seems okay). ========================= I know you’re getting some comments not to worry about the “clear airways/central” apneas. I have two comments to ...

Re: Considering nasal pillows again... Taping suggestions
I use Nexcare Sensitive Skin tape over my lips. Then a longer strip of 3M’s 2” Millipore tape over that. I have no issues with leaks nor skin pain with this combination. I also do a quick soap wash first to get any oil off. And I fold over the ends of the tape to make it easy to find a tab in the mo...
