Thanks, why would you think to increase the EPAP min based on these results? The flow limitation?

Re: Shin Ryoku CPAP progress thread...

A CPAP with an EPR of 3 provides essentially the same therapy as a bilevel with a PS of 3. Except that a CPAP doesn't achieve an EPAP greater than 17 while EPR 3 is operating, whereas a bilevel with a PS of 3 can keep EPAP at 20. Most nights I spend a good portion of the night with EPAP at or near ...

I titrated myself up to 17-20 EPR 3 on APAP and had a residual OA index ~5, plus at the time I felt like I could use a little more PS for comfort.

So at that point I bought a BPAP.

Shin Ryoku CPAP progress thread...

I think I've finally found settings that work for me. Thanks to Pugsy and everyone else who helped me (I previously posted under the username FrederickRose). For quite a while I was using an EPAP range of 17-20 with PS 4. Over the past couple weeks, I figured out that I can breathe comfortably witho...

Re: C-Flex and the I:E ratio

I just wasn't sure what you were asking, or why. Anyway, my point was/is that information such as I:E derived from machines not designed to provide it may not be accurate. This seems to be especially true when dealing with Phillips Respironics equipment. And I was speaking more about a line or clas...

Re: C-Flex and the I:E ratio

My point was that I:E did not apply to cpap and autopap. What is yours? Seems that every time I am curious to learn about something, it somehow offends you . In this case, I was wondering what ventilator capable meant, so I asked. You had referred to ventilator capability several times. At first I ...

The AirCurve 10 Vauto is considered ventilator capable? What does ventilator capable mean?

Re: Considering nasal pillows again... Taping suggestions

I use 3M Medipore H-Soft Cloth Surgical Tape. The roll I bought came perforated, which is a nice bonus so I don't have to cut it for the right size. It sticks well enough to my lips, and I am able to peel it off my mustache and beard the next morning without much discomfort. Like Pugsy, I am startin...

Re: C-Flex and the I:E ratio

This is what I'm thinking and I've alluded to it before: The manufactures, ResMed and Phillips, have not made any ventilator type data, such as Inspiration/expiration time, I:E ratio, Respiration Rate, Tidal Volume, etc. available to users of their non ventilation capable machines through their ass...

Re: C-Flex and the I:E ratio

It's my opinion that your actual I:E is not inverse when using Cflex. I think it's only the graphical representation coupled with false measurements by either SleepyHead or the machine which makes it appear so when cardiographic artifacts are present. Could be. I can't think of any reason that card...

Re: C-Flex and the I:E ratio

Yes, the total volume of exhaled air should equal the total volume of inhaled air and the total volume is equal to the area under the curve--If we have a closed system, but we don't. The mask has a vent and you have indicated a nasal mask, so there is the possibility of mouth venting as well... I w...

I was posting here under the name FrederickRose. I've re-registered under the name ShinRyoku in order to standardize across a few different sleep apnea websites. "In your example, I think the zero line should be around 7" If we move the line there, however, it would seem that the total amount of air...
