Full face mask causes severe bags under my eyes.
When on occasion I don't use my CPAP I wake up in the morning with no sign of bags under my eyes. When I do use my CPAP with my AirFit F20 full face mask I wake up in the morning with severe bags under my eyes. The mask is adjusted tightly to prevent it from leaking. Clearly it is the pressure of th...

Step by step tutorial for CMS50F
I know that many years ago I had access to such a tutorial, but I've long since lost track of it and at 88 I'm not as swift as I used to be.

Re: Connection between high apnea events and REM sleep
For years my Resmed Autosense 10 gave me apnea events under 5, very seldom I might get a 6 or 7. For the past 5 nights my event score has been above 10 and last night it was 18. Four years ago when I first started using my CPAP I learned how to use Oscar but I haven't used it or felt that I needed u...

Connection between high apnea events and REM sleep
I'm following a therapy intended to increase my REM sleep. I believe it is working because I'm conscious of increased dreaming. I have also noticed a marked increase in my CPAC monitored apnea events since I started the therapy. I seem to be sleeping very well except for the steep increase in apnea ...

Re: Bad eye irritation and CPAP
My theory is that the pressure of the mask seal just below my eye sockets interferes somehow with tear plumbing with the result that my eyes are not protected with normal tears.

Re: Correlation between REM sleep and AHI
Thanks Pugsy and DS for two very helpful replies to my inquiry about identifying REM sleep. I'll admit I haven't looked into remedies for deficient REM sleep but I intend to look into what Dave Asprey has to say on the subject, he claims some remarkable accomplishments in fine tunings sleep stages.

Re: Correlation between REM sleep and AHI
Thank you Pugsy for your very comprehensive explanation. Would it be reasonable to infer from my OSCAR report periods with the highest CPAP pressure as periods of REM sleep .... I had been wondering how I could monitor my amount of REM without investing in an Oura Ring?

Re: Sleepless nights -Muscle Twitches, fatigue and overnight pulse ox question
You ought to be on supplementary oxygen while you sleep at least until you correct your low saturation problem. How does your SpO2 run during the day?

Correlation between REM sleep and AHI
Reviewing a recent sleep study I noticed that a disproportionately high number of AHI events occurred during REM sleep. At the same time the study showed my proportion of REM sleep was much lower than it should be. If somehow I was able to improve my amount of REM sleep I would be raising my nightly...

OSCAR analysis assistance
I hate to admit that I'm not up to the task, but I just don't see myself ever acquiring the knowledge to thoroughly analyze and understand my OSCAR output. I would ideally like to engage someone who does have the expertise to help me. I would hope that this would be a fee for service arrangement bec...

Re: Oscar not working
IFor the 64-bit version of OSCAR, type these commands, pressing the Enter key after each command. Note that there are two hyphens before "datadir." c: cd "\Program Files\oscar" oscar --datadir OSCAR_Data2 If you have installed the 32-bit version of OSCAR, type these commands: c: cd "\Program Files ...

Re: Oscar not working
I've seen this behavior twice before, where new data would be imported and, when OSCAR was restarted, the data wasn't there. The fix process can be messy, so after telling you what is happening I'll tell you how to make a fresh start with OSCAR. In each case, the problem was one of file system perm...

Re: Oscar not working
I would like to know where your OSCAR_Data file is located. Click on Help/Troubleshooting/System Information. Where does it say the data file is located? C:\Users\jmpag\Documents\OSCAR_Data\Profiles and the only profile in that folder is the original one I had before the problem. The two I added ar...
