Sleepyhead Questions
Hi all. I just downloaded Sleepyhead. My machine does NOT have a card. I'll have to see if I have one. But my questions are: - Will using the card mess up my transmission to Lincare and my pulmonologist? I do NOT want to mess up that transmission. - How many days will I need of data? It would start,...

Re: Lincare is Rude & Incompetent
Not a fan of Lincare and yes they are rude and incompetent. All they want to do is the sales part of their job and not the customer service. They must be based in S. Florida. :p (former S FL resident of 30 years, where the customer service *anywhere* is at the very best, bad.)

Re: HELP- NEW CPAP User Breathing Problems-Claustro Issue
I had it so bad that I had to get meds to calm me. I was having something like panic attacks when using the CPAP (nasal pillow). The pill helps so that I'm mostly calm.
I still hate it. I call the CPAP a "facehugger." I feel like it's suffocating me.

Re: One year in and I still feel horrible
In case anyone who is listening cares -- I saw a different provider today in the sleep clinic (instead of the provider who gave me the absolutely awful experience last time) and the result was pretty much the same. All he had to offer was "You have a CPAP. Your apnea is treated. I'm sorry you still...

Re: Sleeping poorly with good machine numbers?
Fibro and OA can mess up things. According to the machine, I'm doing great, with AHIs in the 1-2 range but I'm exhausted and feel no change since I went back on CPAP. I think sometimes it's complicated - perhaps CPAP will stop worse things (heart attacks/strokes) but may not fix the exhaustion if yo...

Re: CPAP and Anxiety
Not yet. I have to buy a card reader to use that (and I forget to check to see if I had a card in my machine, darn it.) At any rate, things are temporarily on hold. I'm developing a cold and between that and the stress, I decided to back off on CPAP until after the holidays. Plus - I am definitely g...

Re: CPAP and Anxiety
Practice good sleep hygiene (Google it and read several sources) - Eat a good diet - I'm better at this than I was. - Have a regular, moderate exercise program - I do this. - Try to avoid daytime naps - I do unless the urge is overwhelming. If it is, I nap in the chair sitting up which keeps it shor...

Re: CPAP and Anxiety
Well last night I took the full dosage (100mg). I checked my settings. I did NOT have ramp on, so scratch that. I put my pressure up to 7 (according to my doctor 9 is what works best with my apnea, but baby steps). The result? Not a $*@#ed thing. It took at least an hour to get to sleep. Same old, s...

Re: CPAP and Anxiety
Thanks for all of the responses. Sorry that I took so long to get back here. Swamped with the holidays. And often, by the time I come online, I'm tired. So I'll answer questions then update. - ResMed Airsense 10 Autoset. Set 5-20 (supposed to be changed to 7, but my pulmonologist's office is worse t...

CPAP and Anxiety
Hi all. I've not updated in a while because, well, things seem to be going well. I'm in my eighth week of using the CPAP. Except one thing. The anxiety. I never had any prior to this but I've not been able to get rid of the "I'm suffocating" feeling. I'm NOT - I know intellectually. Plus - if I wake...

Re: Xanax
I'm fairly new to CPAP (a month) and had developed anxiety/feelings of suffocation using the machine. It was ghastly. My doc told me to take Xanax a half hour before bedtime. I've never had mental issues like anxiety or such but I was desperate. I've been on it for 3 nights. WHAT a difference! I tak...

Re: What caused you to seek medical help,....
I have fibromyalgia, so I'm always tired anyway. But in July or August, things got worse. I felt like a zombie and was having to nap a bit, in spite of 8-9 hours of sleep a night. I went to my husband's doctor who listened to my explanation. My husband told him that I evidently would stop breathing ...
