Re: Take CPAP when traveling
Oh, and travelers should be aware that some airlines are no longer allowing full sized carry ons. Only one personal item and nothing else, except the 'free' cpap bag, of course. On my last flight, I was lucky that I had enough room in my under seat carry on to stuff my purse in, otherwise I would ha...

Re: Take CPAP when traveling
When I traveled to Europe several years ago, I had purchased a small, cheap, basic travel machine with no humidifier. It had dual voltage, but I needed an adapter for the plug. I was really glad I did. Both that machine and my little dual voltage travel hair dryer developed issues with the motors so...

Re: Is AHI the thing I need to improve?
Another potential reason for fixed pressure, or at least a tight range, (and don't worry about this until after you've got all of your breathing events well controlled) is if you have high blood pressure. For, me my breathing events were all well controlled at a pressure of 8, but my BP was still h...

Here's a link to the NIH study. I'm the opposite of the conclusions in this study.

Why do you think fixed would be better than a range? Re: AHI still too high
What about setting up the EPR to help with the aerophagia? Then the minimum pressure can be set at a level that covers most of the OSAs without so much discomfort. But then, I use a straight CPAP with no EPR, so I might have missed something here.

Re: OSA resolved, but still sleeping badly
I don't have restless leg syndrome, and OSA seems to be controlled, so what else could it be? Thanks, T. Many things can contribute to sleep problems, for example, hypothyroidism. Have you talked to your primary Dr recently about not sleeping well? You may need more than one solution. Also, you say...

Re: Positive health effects from treatment?
So I'm curious what possible positive health effects i might experience? Currently i have hypertension that is not ideally controlled. I gained 40 pounds in a couple months while in service, elevated liver enzymes since i got out of service, just found our I'm pre- diabetic. Assuming these things a...

Only positive reviews, of course . . . If they posted the honest reviews, the would have trouble selling them. Interestingly enough, I looked at this on Amazon a couple of months ago, and based on the reviews there, I decided it wasn't worth the money. For starters, about 16-17% of the reviews are ...

Re: Taping!
I'm curious what some might think is so dangerous about taping. I've been doing it for nearly 10 years, and have yet to experience anything I thought was truly dangerous. Not trying to start a war, just really want to understand. Coconur, the only "danger" I've seen discussed here is people talking...

Re: Third Try Taping
Apparently the tape is not saliva proof. >.< Back to square 1 unless there is a cure for drooling. I had the same issue with saliva when I first started taping. What worked for me was to purse my lips before applying the tape. This keeps the lips sealed and the saliva doesn't leak out and mess with...

Re: Taping!
Been using one strip if durapore tape for the lips and then strips of micropore around it. The durapore tape usually loses its seal, but it protects the lips. If you've ever seen a woman pursing her lips after applying lipstick (or done it yourself) that's what I do before applying the tape. It mak...

Re: No any improvement after 7 days of APAP therapy
I set my machine according to prescription (auto, 5-18 H2O) and already have 7 days of therapy. Unfortunately, I don't see any improvement in my condition . As previously, I feel sleepiness and drowsiness all day and only in the evening I feel myself normally. So, I don't feel refreshed after sleep...

Re: How Did I Revert to a Mouth-Breather?
i didn't even know you COULD get your ears too tight! The bottom line is that there are so many different types of masks because there are so many different types of people. The trick is for each of us to find the one that works best, or at least well, for us. I just got curious and looked up my or...
