Re: The Alien on my face

Zonker, I had to laugh! Seriously, though, it was encouraging in a strange way to realize that even sleeping, somehow I'd accepted the mask as a good thing and knew it was helpful. When I looked at Sleepyhead, it appears I went for an hour without the Cpap, and then somehow put it back on at least p...

The Alien on my face

I suppose a part of me has become friends with the Alien. I woke up this morning, and the straps were totally disconnected and thrown to the side. I vaguely remember doing battle with them sometime during the night, and being unable to figure out how to reassemble the contraption. Yet as I woke up, ...

Re: And the journey begins....

I feel like I've just passed a mile marker on the journey, or something. Had the insurance-mandated follow-up appointment 31-90 days after starting CPAP therapy. Doc is comfortable with machine settings; I am as well. We're both aware that the jury is still out on this mask, so time is needed. I had...

Many of the links on those posts are broken, and I've wondered too, due to so many posts about good people who seem tired of the drama, what other trustworthy options exist.

Best Current References or Resources for Newly Diagnosed?

Several years ago, I found myself on a forum for diabetes and very quickly a couple of regulars recommended one or two websites and two well-written books for the layperson on diabetes. One was especially for the newly diagnosed and helped tremendously as I walked through the first year. There has b...

Re: And the journey begins....

Funny, I normally use the Snipping tool, but had been trying to follow the directions given for posting to the forum through Imgur. (Yep, I'm generally a rule-follower -- figured there was something that would break the forum if I used the snipping tool instead of screen shot in Imgur, and would not...

Re: And the journey begins....

I'm ready to do a happy dance or something! I tried a couple of random resolutions again (after trying about 8 earlier this afternoon), and suddenly was able to get SH back to normal, the full-screen toggle is OFF! I think it was 1280 x 800 that did the trick. Suddenly I could access all menu functi...

Re: And the journey begins....

Thanks, Pugsy. That report had confused me, since it looked decent to me as well, yet I felt lousy. I wondered what I've been missing, and have tried figuring it out. SH bug -- it even persisted when I uninstalled and reinstalled it -- three times! Go figure. I've changed resolution every which way ...

Re: And the journey begins....

I think I've finally figured out imgur -- though struggling with something that went goofy on Sleepyhead. (I can no longer get a response when clicking on File, View, Data, Help, and the options to minimize, resize or close the window have disappeared from the Sleepyhead window. It's now full screen...

Re: And the journey begins....

That was odd. The names of all graphs, the numbers on both axes, and the Events Flags graph at the top had all disappeared. Poof. I closed the program and reopened it with the card out of my laptop, since it was already saved anyhow. It's all back. Thanks! According to the graphs, last night looks r...

Re: And the journey begins....

Argh... I suppose between all of the changes and some pain issues and life in general, I'm not thinking as clearly as I should this morning, and I forgot to write-protect my SD card when I downloaded data to Sleepyhead, so some data showed up just fine, but the top graph disappeared for last night -...

Re: And the journey begins....

Don't give up. You're 5-6 weeks in, right?--still at the beginning of your therapy journey. Getting the mask right (or the right mask) can take more time than we might prefer, but it's an important task to work on. Not everyone has the miracle experience of complete comfort on Night 1. Are you keep...

Re: And the journey begins....

I'm discouraged. And tired. Supposed to try a third mask tonight, and am almost tempted to take a night off. Things had gone well, with low leaks, low AHI, and it seemed sleep was easier. Until this past week, anyhow. I didn't expect to feel like I was going backward, but I do. (And it is hard to ad...

Re: How long did it take you to get used to cpap?

I thought things were going well, and that the adjustment had been relatively smooth. I've been at it almost a month. The past few nights have been more challenging though. Alas, last night was the first night I gave up in the middle of the night and took the mask off midway. I could not handle it a...
