Tube location

Hi everyone, I’ve been using cpap since 2017 and it took a long time to help my fatigue, but eventually it made a big difference. However, in the past few months I’ve been having some problems with increased fatigue and also more squeaks and machine and hose sounds. I have the machine on the nightst...

Re: Should my mask be venting?

Honestly, he’s just so happy to not hear me snoring any more, he doesn’t care what the cpap does!

Re: Should my mask be venting?

Thanks for all the replies. I think I understand the thing I don’t like is the diffuser. I’ll just ask my supplier for an elbow without a diffuser. (Is that the correct terminology?)

Re: Should my mask be venting?

I'll post a photo when I can. Good idea to just use the old elbow...but I threw it away.

Good idea on the photo. 12-hour work day today, but I'll try to get to it tomorrow.

Re: Should my mask be venting?

That was true until I replaced it. Something changed in the design and there is no longer that ring of circles. There’s a big plastic chunk covering them. It isn’t removable.
And it’s not dirty at all. It’s brand new.

Re: Should my mask be venting?

Ok, I get it. But I feel no air when I put my hand near the connector. There’s a thick plastic piece that looks like it’s largely covering the vent holes. I hate it. The air that came out of my previous one prevented the suffocating feeling and also felt like air conditioning, which was really pleas...

Should my mask be venting?

Hi all, this is my first time on in quite awhile. In general, cpap therapy is going well. However, I recently put on all new everything - hose, mask, connector. Same products I’ve always used - mask is a Resmed AirFit F20 - just replacing the older parts. With my previous mask and connector (elbow c...

Re: NEWBIE Intro | Side effects CPAP ? GERD & Apnea

The burping sounds like aerophagia as others have mentioned. But, I recently went on Prilosec (brand name of what you’re taking), and it’s causing all kinds of gurgling, burping, and just a lot of weird air in my upper digestive track. So maybe your burping is from the med.

Re: 2.5 Years and seeking help

Pugsy, thanks for your reply. I only started the progesterone in Sept. 2018, and the weight gain, aches, etc, have been going on much longer than that. So, taking progesterone can't really be the problem. But, I saw your other reply and yes, I've been thinking it's hormonal crap. So much joy.

Re: 2.5 Years and seeking help

I just looked it up and my pressure setting is actually 9-14.5. The 90% Pressure reading on my phone ranges from 9.8-11.3, but usually around 10.0. I thought because my AHI was good that there'd be no reason to raise my minimum. So once my AHI settled down into the low 1.0-1.5 range, I stopped tinke...

2.5 Years and seeking help

Hi, I haven't posted in a long time, but I'm hitting a level of frustration and felt like it was time to reach out again. I started CPAP in July 2017. So, it's been about 2.5 years. I am comfortable sleeping with the mask, traveling with the equipment, and following the protocol. My AHI averages abo...

Re: Gaining weight on cpap

Thanks for replies. Yes, I am counting ALL of my calories. I also have a Fitbit which tells me how many calories I’m burning. But that hasn’t been overly helpful because I burn many more calories than I eat every day and yet I still gain weight. I decided to do my own Google search on the topic. App...

Re: Gaining weight on cpap

I am working on that now.
My point is, I had my weight under control before cpap. Since starting cpap, my weight has gone up rapidly despite eating exactly the same way as I was before. I’m wondering why my body would react in this way.
