Re: New to Fitbit - Anyone use one?

I also just got a Charge 2 for Christmas. It'll be interesting to see the sleep data daily. It said I was awake for 50 minutes last night. That doesn't seem right to me, so I'll compare it to Sleepyhead. It also said I rode a bike outside at 11:30 last night! I was getting ready for bed - guess my f...

Re: Can cpap cause neck problems?

And your post is about your neck? I've had your symptoms and it was all about anxiety, just something to consider Definitely a possibility! I do battle anxiety, and it seems to show up in different ways. I haven't had this particular long-lasting neck problem before, but I've had plenty of anxiety ...

Can cpap cause neck problems?

I'm curious about anyone's experience with neck problems possibly from cpap. I have always carried a lot of tension in my neck and shoulders, although haven't needed any physical therapy or anything. Until now. As the months have passed (5 months), my neck has become more achy and my range of motion...

Re: Lack of mental focus, slurred speech after starting CPAP

Please let us know what you find out. My blood pressure has also always been low, so I didn't like hearing that cpap lowers blood pressure! I sure don't need mine any lower. If your doctor does think that's the reason for your symptoms, hopefully they can suggest something to help you.

Re: AirFit 20 full face

I have the same problem. But, it's a lot better using a mask liner. And somehow just with time it seems to be less of a problem.

Re: Lack of mental focus, slurred speech after starting CPAP

The T in TIA stands for transient. So, by definition, a TIA resolves with no residual symptoms within 24 hours. If symptoms don't resolve, it's considered a minor stroke (which is what I had even though my symptoms resolved in less than 24 hours.) A stroke (as opposed to a TIA) will show up on an MR...

Re: Lack of mental focus, slurred speech after starting CPAP

If you ever figure out what's going on, I'd love to know! I usually have a better day after 6 hours of sleep than the nights where I get 7 1/2-8 hours. Just like you said. I also agree with you that it's unlikely you're having any sort of stroke or TIA, given you've said it's been every morning for ...

Re: Lack of mental focus, slurred speech after starting CPAP

I share some of your issues (dizziness, feeling better at night), but mine have been around pre and post cpap. I am becoming convinced it is from an issue other than my apnea. Have you changed anything else in this time period - added supplements, changed your diet, for example? I agree with seeing ...

Re: High AHIs-Feel Terrible-Machine Troubles

Kteague, I'm interested in all your knowledge about ferritin. I can't really get mine about the low 20's, despite trying for years with daily iron. I know you were saying it should be around 100 if you have restless legs. I wasn't diagnosed with restless legs, but it makes me wonder if there's a fer...

Any way to tell if a Central is really a Central?

The daily report from my machine usual shows some centrals. Often it's 2 or 3, but sometimes it's 6 or 7, and a couple times it's been 10. I've seen people on here say a lot of what is reported as centrals aren't really. Is there any way to tell from Sleepyhead if they're real or not? Should I be co...

Re: How important are leaks?

Thanks everyone. I didn't think it was a big deal because the leaks don't wake me up. I just wondered because when I put my SD card into my computer and pull up Sleepyhead, it usually has a big warning for me, telling me I had significant mask leaking. Makes it sound dire! But when I look at the dat...

How important are leaks?

For the past several weeks, I'm getting reports of leaks on Sleepyhead. I haven't felt or been bothered by these leaks at all. But I'll see data like I'm attaching that shows a percent over the leak redline. Do leaks like this affect my cpap therapy if they don't wake me up? http://i.imgur.com/PGHmK...

Re: First night with apap post stroke (a friend)

I had a stroke several years ago, and when I went on cpap this last summer, no doctor showed the slightest concern about the fact I'd had a stroke. Any doctor I spoke to simply reiterated that cpap is helpful to your body.

Re: Can someone ease my fears about full face masks

I use a FFM, and I used to be worried about what would happen if the power went out. Hasn't happened yet, but one time in the middle of the night, for some inexplicable reason I apparently turned off my machine for about 15 minutes with my mask still on. I eventually woke up and restarted the machin...

Re: Positive health effects from treatment?

I admit to being envious of most of you. Been at it four months. Feel just as exhausted; fall asleep reading or watching TV in the evening. Have gained 8 pounds and headaches are also more frequent now. But I won't give up! I think I'll feel better at some point. Good luck to you!
