Altering filters
I have a ResMed 11 that I just got. I had a 10 and have a lot of the allergy filters left over. The 11 filters are extremely thin & I question their ability to filter out any allergens. Would it be safe to cut down the 10's filers to fit in the 11s? I don't want to over tax the machine.

Re: Whining for Mom
Well, it was the motor dying. The machine was over 2 yrs old so it was out of warranty. I called the provider and they swapped out the unit with a refurbished unit. It is nice & quiet and everyone should enjoy a good night's rest.

Re: Whining for Mom
Sometimes, moving the machine to a lower position will prevent the sound from reaching your wife. The edge of the mattress is an effective sound baffle. Or you could get her earplugs . . .  -Maybe so. But what about the noise itself. What could be causing it & can it be corrected?

I set a jar of Vicks on its side next to my air intake. I also make sure that I wash my mask each day.
