Re: one size fits nobody
You're right, but I guess it was the pollen thing that got me... he just posts so many iffy things that sometimes I lose track of what's what. I was agreeing with you. I was pointing out his faulty logic. ======== rotflmfao the only faulty logic was yours mine was backed by science and engineering ...

Re: Salt Water in Humidifier
You expect us to believe you read every post in this dead thread from 10 years ago. All that's left is to read the dozen or so dead threads on the same thing. Only one thing matters, clean distilled water is the only thing that's supposed to be put in the HH, Tap water or bottled water can be used,...

Re: Salt Water in Humidifier
A test like that has already been performed. The results indicated that at the mask vent flow rate there is some aerosol formed and salt from the water in the humidifier can make its way up the hose. The higher the flow rate and the higher the pressure results in greater amounts of aerosol formed. ...

Re: one size fits nobody
"Congestion from pollen or other cause requires changes in air pressure" Really? And what medical school did you learn that from? Stop posting junk. Stop posting what you obviously know nothing about. Maybe stop posting altogether. ================ engineering school fluid dynamics air is a fluid t...

Re: One month in and still tired
Ok, So still a newbie at all this, but after a month I still struggle to wake up feeling refreshed. I wake up at least 2 or 3 times every night - I think this is mostly from the mask as I change positions. I have an appointment with my sleep Dr in a couple of weeks and will discuss all this with hi...

Re: Looking for cpap mask made somewhere besides China
Why? She's a victim of scare mongering. [/quote] This is absolutely the case. Just because something's made in China doesn't mean it's inferior. Case in point? By whatever measure, iPhones are largely "made in China". Ford Pintos were made in New Jersey, USA. Everything is dependent upon the qualit...

Re: Salt Water in Humidifier
Just an idea. Someone heavily salt the water in a CPAP humidifier. Crank the heat up high, pull the mask off the house, and let it run for a couple of hours free-flow pointed at something for the water to condense on. A cold piece of glass or something. Collect the water, and taste it, to see if the...

Re: CPAP with Ultrasonic Humidifier
I used an ultrasonic humidifier at my desk, but used distilled water in it exclusively. The white dust is calcium from tap water--it will damage the ultrasonic unit, and possibly YOU. It's a number of things, actually. Calcium is one of them. Even more worrisome, in some areas, it could be lead sal...

Re: CPAP with Ultrasonic Humidifier
Not to dredge up a thread from a year ago... but yes, let's dredge up a thread from a year ago. I already exclusively use distilled water in my bipap humidifer. I would never use anything but. I'm familiar with the issues of white dust in ultrasonic humidifiers used with tap water. But answer me thi...
