Re: Suddenly getting air in my mouth
Common problem....we call it chipmunk cheeks. Search the forum for past discussions. Not an easy problem to fix but for some reason your back door to your airway in the back of the mouth is falling open and allowing air to sneak into the oral cavity. Ah-ha! A search term! Thank you, that's very use...

Re: Suddenly getting air in my mouth
If air is blowing out of your mouth you are "mouth venting" then. Same dynamics, just smaller volume. Air gets into your mouth by the same channel. You have to get the part of your throat that isolates the mouth from the nose to go back to clamping off again. Retrain. You only get therapy pressure ...

Re: Suddenly getting air in my mouth
I'm not mouth breathing, though. It's just that some air is blowing into my mouth, and when my mouth gets full enough, it poofs out from between my lips. I'm still breathing through my nose, even as it's happening. I only mouth breathe if I have major congestion. I have a backup mask for those few d...

Suddenly getting air in my mouth
I've been using my APAP perfectly well for about 18 months now, with the F&P Brevida nasal pillow. Over the past few days, I've suddenly started waking up several times a night because of little bursts of air coming out of my mouth. As I try to go back to sleep, I notice small amounts of air getting...

How do these stats look?
Greetings! I've been on APAP for almost a year now (including my trial), and I've got 100% compliance - yay, me, right?! So I just thought I'd check in to ask what the experienced consensus is on how these numbers look. I know I'm not snoring any more, or very little (per my husband), and I don't ha...

Re: Six months in, numbers look good. How should I feel?
Thanks! I'm just unsure what a "correct" night's sleep should feel like, and therefore if I'm getting one. And, by extension, what I should optimize in order to optimize my therapy. I actually started in a strange situation, since my doctor sent me for a sleep study of her own volition, and I was pe...

Six months in, numbers look good. How should I feel?
I've been on PAP for 6 months now, and I'm regularly getting 8+ hours of sleep with a nice AHI. But I'm still finding I want to hit "snooze" a few times in the morning, and get sleepy no later than previously. I still want to nap on weekends. When I first started APAP, I hopped up in the morning muc...

Re: Lines on Face
To the actual question, I picked up this sleep mask - http://a.co/gfX9Quw - and it's not only lovely to sleep in (blocks tons of light, keeps my ears warm, keeps hair smooth), but it covers most of my cheeks where my mask (Brevida) straps are. It won't help with every CPAP mask, of course, but it co...

Re: WHY!!!!
nope no flags at all Hmm. Well, I'm sorry to hear you maintain that "libtard" is a word you wish to continue to use. I was hoping that it was just a matter of you not understanding how hurtful the term "retard" is to a whole class of people, most of whom most likely have no idea this board exists. ...

I would tend to disagree. Because it's a technique based on nitpicking. No response will actually satisfy a "sea lion" because they will continue to pick at nuance, word choice, and opinion. I might say "I feel like there are toxic posters here who are causing the forum to become less useful. The si...

The people causing the problem are those who have been deleting things they don't agree with then creating more ID's to repeat the process. These are not guests but are the Registered Members who get infused with wisdom, anger, and an intolerance of differing opinions soon after registering. That i...

Howdy, You could also argue this forum has been successful exactly because it has worked on its mission in a way which is outside of the majority opinion and that changing that is bad. What I do know is that emotions are high and that's never a good time to make a good long term decision. I will co...

Re: Maybe dumb question about varying stats
Thanks for the info, Pugsy. I've got Sleepyhead for real stats (though I don't use it super frequently), and was just curious about all the variation in the quick 'n dirty Dreamstation info. Appreciate the explanation!

Maybe dumb question about varying stats
Every morning, I have a peek at the quick info my Dreamstation APAP provides - you know, the hours of sleep, AHI, 90% pressure, mask fit, periodic breathing. My question is specifically about AHI and 90% pressure. One morning, it might show be (these numbers are for description, not exactly accurate...
