Re: Setting for DreamWear and ResMed S9
My sleep doc considers the standard Dreamwear a nasal mask. If you have the Dreamwear with gel pillows, he says to use the pillows mask resistance setting. When I contacted ResMed with this question, they also consider the standard Dreamwear a "nasal" mask, which is why ResMed has that mask in the "...

For anyone who does not want to submit to Twitter's big brother censorship .... there is an alternative! https://gab.ai/ #twitterpocalypse Twitter’s strict new enforcement rules will be going live on December 18th. Twitter will be judging user behavior both on and OFF of their website. This means t...

Re: OT - Net Neutrality
Here's an article where you can get a clue where we are headed now by what is happening in other countries that let their ISP's run-away without net neutrality. If you are a cable TV subscriber, you will recognize the high prices for pre-determined (not by you but by your ISP) bundles of places you ...

Hey Wulfman - I commented: I don't want my "dumb pipe" provider deciding for me where I can go and where I can't go on the web. ...and you wrote: >>But, if Google, Facebook and other "content providers" get control, you may have less control over where you can or can't go. >>To me, your statement so...

Re: Is there a simple way to use this Board?
After five years on CPAP therapy, what I have found works well for cleaning is a daily quick morning wash for the mask cushion (to remove oils), and a weekly vinegar wash for the hose and fittings. (little elbows connecting hose to mask etc.). You may have noticed that the diameter of the hose fits ...

Re: OT - Net Neutrality
+zoocrewphoto You were asking why so many Americans have only one choice of ISP and the answer lies largely in the large amount of capital expense required to string fiber or copper cables to individual residences. It's a capital intensive business to tear up streets and bury cables, or get (and pa...

Re: OT - Net Neutrality
Oh Goodness Wulfman. For a person who's so well informed and helpful about sleep-apnea and CPAP matters, I'm surprised to see that you would post a link to a junk opinion web site like brietbart. That's right up there with that conspiracy nutcase at infowars for the meadow muffin of the year award. ...

Re: OT - Net Neutrality
Wulfman - I'm happy for you that you are among the under 20 percent of Americans who have access to more than one broadband internet service provider. I live in a metropolitian area of over 2 million people and there are three monopoly providers here, but very little overlap in their territories, so...

Re: OT - Net Neutrality
Wulfman / Den You wrote that you are afraid of Google directing a search from CPAP.com to some other outlet. That's a valid concern and that could happen whether or not Net Neutrality rules are in place because Google is not an Internet Service Provider (ISP). Google is a service that is delivered b...

Re: Dreamware mask questions
I've used the DreamWear for nearly a year and I like it very much. I had your concerns about fitting the right size, so I enlisted a CPAP DME to help, and was able to try both medium and large frame size. I have a 7 5/8 inch hat size (large head) but the medium frame is the best fit for me. I use th...

I am in the web business and I can assure that the un-educated folks like Hang Fire, DreamStalker, and CeralKiller will come to regret their support of turning over control of what content gets transmitted via the web to the distributed monopolies that make up the telecoms. Over 80 percent of Americ...

Re: powering up ResMed S9 via a car battery
Thanks for the tips CapnLoki! Is it not the case that one can get much much more life out of a car battery by just using the CPAP and leaving the Hi5 humidifier in the bag? The CPAP itself doesn't draw that much power. It's the heater that sucks the juice. And of course, there's always the more port...

Re: Surviving DME with Medicare
Hi - I just went through this in the Seattle area. If your sleep doc has been taking Medicare patients, he'll know that he can't just write a "generic" prescription for you. For Medicare reimbursement, the prescription has to be specific brand and model of the CPAP unit and mask etc., so if you know...

Re: Getting discouraged
Hi Tisket - So sorry to hear you're having trouble. I started CPAP therapy in January 2013, and I started with the Swift FX nasal pillows too. And for the first week I was having problems. I was irritated by the nasal pillows and the hissing air blowing into my eyes with that setup, so I tried other...
