Re: Dreamstation Test Drive
Loads of extra data in SleepyHead recorded from the Dreamstation as well. If the machine is collecting more types of data it shouldn't be a huge leap to assume it's algorithm uses this data to make decisions during the night about treatment. The bottom line is that I feel better all around after swi...

Re: Dreamstation Test Drive
Interesting. I have both the Dreamstation Auto and the Airsense 10. I find my AHI is lower with the Airsense, and I seem to sleep better. I have tried switching back and forth on a weekly basis, but the Airsense edges out the Dreamstation for me. Maybe because my main problem is hypopneas not obstr...

Re: Dreamstation Test Drive
It's official, the Dreamstation Auto is working much better for me. I'm falling asleep quicker, I'm completely out all night and I'm more rested the next day. I don't know why because my AHI was under 1 with the Airsense 10 Auto, but I still felt daft and tired by the afternoon (improvement in other...

Dreamstation Test Drive
I had an excellent AHI with the Resmed Airsense 10 Auto, lower than 1 every night from the first night post sleep study. My sleep study was 24.8 on my side and over 80 on my back. I've never slept on my back unless forced to. In any case although my AHI is very low, I've felt like something has been...

Re: P10 Mask Type setting on a Dreamstation
Perhaps a slight difference in the computed leak rate. The characteristics, such as vent rate, dead space, etc. of various masks are published and one could probably make a reasonable guess as to the "proper" setting by comparing the characteristics of a mask to those of the manufacturer for which ...

Re: P10 Mask Type setting on a Dreamstation
What's different with the Respirionics masks and what does this setting accomplish with their masks. If using a Respironics mask with a setting of zero and not their recommended setting, how would your therapy change? I'm trying to understand the impacts on therapy? Are they saying the only way to a...

P10 Mask Type setting on a Dreamstation
Hi all,
I'm taking a Dreamstation for a test ride before final purchase of either the dream station or the Airsense 10.
Does anyone know what resistance I should set it to for P10 Pillows (medium) ? X2?

Re: Power Supply Travelling - Canada/US to UK
The CPAP machine will operate fine on UK power. A less pricey alternative to buying a complete UK power cord is to get a simple US/to UK plug adapter which will be available at AAA or almost any travel supplies place. Note that if you expect to go to Continental Europe also, there will be various p...

Re: Power Supply Travelling - Canada/US to UK
You will likely have a problem purchasing distilled water in the UK for your humidifier. If you have family/friends in the UK then you might want to get then to go to "Boots" pharmacy and pre order some because it is not normally available in store. I'll be visiting my in laws. Thanks for the heads...

Re: Healing Times/Experience
Sometimes, fixing the sleep apnea problems unmask other underlying problems that you were unaware of because the sleep apnea was dominating your conditions. It is not uncommon for those who have gone undiagnosed with OSA to also have developed cardiac issues. At least that was the case for me. Over...

Re: Healing Times/Experience
Neutron Star, It's accepted that OSA sufferers develop a sleep debt...that can take months to "pay off". If you haven't been doing cpap for too long...it might just mean you need more time. Cpapers are justly sensitive to things being blamed on cpap. Read the forums: nausea, headache, pain, infecti...

Re: Healing Times/Experience
Hi everyone, I have noticed I'm sleeping through the night without waking up, don't need to pee and my random chest pain is gone. However I'm still an airhead at times during the day. Mostly clear and focused and then randomly an airhead with some real dough head moments. It's like my focus and mem...

Re: Healing Times/Experience
Do keep an open eye on breathing changes as other things can just happen to coincide with CPAP use. For me it was lung disease that went on a long time mis/un diagmosed. For a friend, it was a fatal cardiac issue. I can't speak to cpap's effect on breathing when awake. Just saying don't make assump...
