Re: Newbie a bit freaked about AHI

Fellow newbie here, and I agree with the above - it sounds like you're doing great. The average AHI numbers you're seeing are very close to what I'm seeing now (started treatment 3/27/17). I still get the occasional outlier high figure (6-7+, generally not as high as what you're getting occasionally...

What do you mean by a "sticky"? I'm trying to find it.
It's the first post, in the announcements section - Pugsy's Pointers...SleepyHead Tutorial and TX Hints. Lots of good stuff in there.

Re: Am I being successfully treated?

There's a lot of really smart folks here who can help with treatment suggestions - I'm not one of them. But I can tell you that the DreamMapper app doesn't provide data that's useful for more than a cursory snapshot of your treatment. Your AHI is generally under 5, which is considered "treated". But...

Re: On a mission to lower my AHI - treatment suggestions?

Using Sleepyhead is a great way to see what really goes on over time (one night is not indicative of much by itself) but so is how you feel, and we've gotten pretty good at tweaking things, usually by 1-2 cms at a time for a few nights each, on our own. Good luck! Granted, it's only one night, but ...

Re: On a mission to lower my AHI - treatment suggestions?

The easiest change would be to increase your minimum pressure to 9...maybe even 10. You can do it gradually if necessary. That should bring your AHI down. Agreed. Thanks - I'll nudge it up over the next few days. I wondered about doing that, but thought that at some point it almost removes the "aut...

On a mission to lower my AHI - treatment suggestions?

I've been in treatment just over a month, so I'm looking for some advice. Here's the deal: I'm a 58 yr old male, generally good health (few extra pounds), get regular exercise. Symptoms that led to diagnosis were major snoring that disturbed partner’s sleep, reports of gasping/choking at night (neve...

Re: Auto on feature

My provider left that setting off when setting up the unit, and I understand why. I enabled Auto-On to try it, and found it to be kind of sketchy. To ensure that it turns on, my mask must be sealed well in order for the unit sense the back pressure and turn on (the Amara View requires pretty good pr...

Re: Clear Airway/Dream Mapper

Far from an expert here, but my two cents. If your post is based on a single night's results...give it some time and see what the averages are over a couple weeks. My first few nights were AHI around 9, with weird distributions of the different events. With some adjustments (thanks to feedback and i...

Re: Old snoring apneic, new to APAP and not loving it

Welcome - sure you'll get some good advice. In answer to your questions, yes, posting the links should be fine. And regarding the calendar - it's not in preferences, it's actually in the interface. At the bottom center of the calendar, look for a small dot - click and drag it up, away goes the calen...

Re: Amara View update along with some major issues

New user (3+ weeks) with the Amara View, and I experienced similar stress/pain in the mornings, even though my medical provider insisted the straps were properly tensions. I started backing off the tightness of all the straps just a bit, and that seemed to fix it. During that time, I also started to...

Re: Newby - Observations

Welcome and thanks for sharing. New here as well - 25 days into treatment and still getting acclimated. Seems I'm finally comfortable enough with the mask that I'm (stomach) sleeping more soundly, and, thanks in part to settings recommendations and advice from good people here, my AHI continues to d...

New user checking in...how am I doing?

First post here, looking for a little feedback/validation/support/advice. I’m a 58 yr old male, generally good health (few extra pounds), get regular exercise. Symptoms that led to diagnosis were major snoring that disturbed partner’s sleep, reports of gasping/choking at night (never woke me up), ch...
