Re: Smargie’s Therapy Thread...in Need of ASV Advice

I'm still doing really well! 8) I haven't made it to my follow up appointment with the doctor yet between her cancelling and then me, but I'm not too anxious about having changed the settings anymore. Pugsy, I wish I had followed your advice to just postpone treatment until seeing the doc the first...

Re: Trouble Adjusting

There is an adjust period that can last for a couple of months for some. I wouldn't just lay there awake, sit up and read a book till you are tired. Or an audio book if the mask gets in the way. Google sleep hygiene, you don't want to start any bad habits.

Re: Very High CA/CSR - Very Low AHI

I would see a general doctor now, to rule out anything serious. You need an appointment with your sleep doctor. A physical, bloods, heart check and another sleep study. You may be switched over to another machine. An ASV, I would ask for the resmed one. Most prefer that one, when they have tried bot...

Re: is my machine treating my sleep apena the way it should be

Did you do a sleep study with the ASV? The pressures are wrong if you have CSA. You may have some positional apnea, like chin tucking. There is also the clinical manual at apneaboard I would have min epap 8 for the UA/H and the rest in default settings min epap 8 max epap 15 min PS 3 max ps 15 this ...

Re: New to ASV. Lots of questions.

The F20 takes a couple of weeks to soften up, It will feel better. You need to sort out the leaks and there is a mask fit function that blows high pressure to help you. If you go to apneaboard, you can download the clinical manual and software called OSCAR to veiw your results.

Re: Smargie’s Therapy Thread...in Need of ASV Advice

Your doing great on your ASV Thanks for the feedback and support, Jas. when you are ready, you will see your doctor, you are still being lead down the garden path here. I will be seeing my doctor on Monday. The appointment was set up as soon as I got my machine, and it was scheduled to be close to ...

when you are ready, you will see your doctor, you are still being lead down the garden path here. pugsy, If you read the titration guide, you will find that the ASV is different to normal bpap. You raise the min epap for all obstructive events, including obstructive H. The ipap or max ps is default ...

Re: Cheapest Source for Distilled Water

@TropicalDiver yes, I was talking cpap.
nedipot? It would depend on your local supply and if it had bad bugs. You could use boiled water out the kettle?
We have chlorine treated supply that I boil and use with salt, for my spray solution. I got sick of buying Fess.

Re: Cheapest Source for Distilled Water

I have no hesitation in using tap water. Think about it, it's good enough to drink.
Have a google here on old threads, Studies show germs from the tank can not be transported to the mask. Also these germs are naturally in your environment that you live in.

Re: Need Help with Better Sleep and Pressure Sets

I think you have your head around this very well. 95% is just a tighter number, you want your min a bit below 95% sometimes. To confirm you aren't over pressure. With the collar chart, it had your med and 90% at 12. I was wondering if it made an improvement long term. I would want my min pressure to...

Re: ASV question

You need PS for the centrals. I don't think that there is a max IPAP setting per se....instead max IPAP is just a function of EPAP plus PS. So if you were to try to limit IPAP you would have to do it by limiting PS max and it appears the machine thinks you pretty much need that max of 15 or close t...

Re: Need Help with Better Sleep and Pressure Sets

Taping the magnets and using the velcro straps may be the solution. It will shorten the life of the headgear, but if you are on insurance you get a mask every 6 months. The respiration rate chart looks more even with the collar. Now that you know how the head position feels. You may be able to dupli...
