Re: Fibro: when a cardio/pulmonary sleep study isn't the answer

Yes, she had a regular sleep study. No, she doesn't have any limb movement or other similar issues. The mask could be an intermittent problem. She uses a DreamWear with pillows, and it will slip off her face and noisily spew air. Wakes *me* up!! But usually not her. She does sleep. She just can't ge...

Fibro: when a cardio/pulmonary sleep study isn't the answer

So we've been on CPAP not quite 2 years. For me, it's wonderful - for sleep, that is. I put the mask on, the machine starts up the hurricane, and I sleep without snoring and wake without problems (apnea-related ones, that is - the machine don't do miracles!). The other side of the bed, though -- tha...

Re: Dealing with Mask Issues

Most mask fit instructions and videos show adjusting while standing in front of a mirror or sitting on the bed. Make your final adjustments while laying down. Tight enough to stop the leaks, but no tighter than need be. I find with my F20 the my pillow is a big deal. Everything can be set just perfe...

Re: NPR CPAP Story

I just read that!! And came here to see if it had been posted yet. It does make the blood boil.

And yet -- the only way out of this data mess we have created (or passively accepted) is to rise up en masse and protest. Ain't gonna happen is my bet.

Okay - I got it.
Clean as I would.
And let the receiver clean as they would.
Makes sense. :8>)

Cleaning a mask before selling?

I have two masks - Mirage Liberty with nose pillows and Amara View - that I need to send to a new home. I've given both a good honest chance, but neither do well for me. How should I clean these before I offer them to another person? If you were looking at "a slightly used mask for sale", what would...

Re: Ending up with the right mask

I first tried a mask that was like what my friend has -- the Amara View. At first I liked it, but then the little cut-out under my nose started irritating me. So I switched to a Resmed F10 ffm. That's now my current go-to mask, with a liner. Right now, though, my nose is stuffy, right at the upper p...

Nose irritation with pillows

I have a Resmed Mirage Liberty hybrid mask. I'm using the medium pillows. The left side is irritating the inside of my nostril, like it's pushing up too high. I'm going to try the small pillows tonight. But it looks like the height is the same, so the change may not help. Anyone have suggestions for...

Re: Forced by job to get testing and CPAP I don't need..

I have slept fine for decades. Snored like a freight train, but it gave the kids some laughs. My wife was having sleep problems and went in for a sleep study. On the "off-chance" that my snoring was one of them, I went for a study too. Turns out I have a “severe” apnea: I stopped breathing about 240...

Re: Nasal mask mouth leaks, FFM ineffective

You might want to look at a hybrid mask.
This one has a chin shelf to help keep the mouth closed.

Be sure and read the reviews.

Madalot: I have no insights on your condition or your machine, but some other thoughts that may or may not fit. Feel free to ignore them if they're too far out there. I am personally involved with someone who has fibromyalgia and sleep issues. While they only use a CPAP (and the doctor said it's onl...

Re: Running machine with a dry humidifier?

Thanks to all who responded. Special thanks to LSAT for the guide link! Looking through the guide, I can't find any warnings against running the tank empty. In fact, it says to make sure it's empty and inserted before using it on an airplane. I would have to go through it with a much finer-toothed c...

Running machine with a dry humidifier?

I have the AirSense 10 Elite with heated humidifier.
Does anything bad happen if the tank runs dry at night?
I can find how to set the humidity level.
I can't find a temperature setting.
So does the "heated" part just come on and stay on?
