Hi -
I'm currently on a pressure of 18 w/backrate rate of 12. I use a Simplus mask. I think my doc is going to up the pressure at my next appt. Not sure if the Simplus can handle that. Looking for recommendations for full face masks that can handle a higher pressure. Thank you.

Re: Success Finally But Why Don't I Feel Better?
Thanks, Midwest. I was first diagnosed with severe sleep apnea in 2003! I've tried many different types of machines, masks, etc. SEVEN sleep studies to date and they want me to do another. Ridiculous. I'm currently on a BPAP now w/backup rate. Pressure of 17. For a girl whose AHI was 29+, AHI of 5 a...

Success Finally But Why Don't I Feel Better?
I've been doing well with the BPAP...low AHI(around 5), long sleep time, little to no leaks, no aerophagia. For example, my MyAir score last night was 95/100. AHI was 5.5. Sleep with mask on for over 8 hours. This has the typical scenario lately. I'm encouraged by the numbers. So why don't I feel am...

It's sad to see that members making fun of other members is an enjoyable form of entertainment for some.

Re: Honey
Why do some people have to make fun of others to feel good about themselves? There seem to be plenty of those sorts of people on this board. Really, chunkyfrog?

Honey
You'd think, as long as I've been struggling with sleep apnea(15 years), I would have run across this by now. Maybe it's because I was trying all the sleep meds which always left me feeling drowsy in the morning and then just gave up. But I read somewhere this week that a simple spoonful of honey wi...

Mold in the Water in Machine
Hi -
So I've got this red mold that is in the corners of my water reservoir in AirCurve 10ST. Vinegar doesn't seem to be working to get it out. Any ideas. I can't imagine that being good for me to ingest.

I wonder if, at this point, I even need a DME.

Changing DME Companies
Hi - I'm ready to switch DME companies. Cannot stand the one I'm with. Have had enough. My only concern in doing this is that I have paid off the BiPap machine I bought from them. It's an AirCurve 10ST. It's now about a year and a half old, working fine. But a new DME company isn't going to fix it i...

Re: Struggling w/Aerophagia
I can pursue that. Cost is a factor as I have a high deductible, still owe $2,000 on a sleep study I had over a year ago. Also cannot imagine bringing the stress and worry from having BC/BS watching me so closely for compliance. That was a nightmare last year.

Struggling w/Aerophagia
Hi - Aerophagia has kept me from using my cpap at 17 pressure, which was determined at my last sleep study. So, I'm at 16, usually can only get about 4 hours in a night, and it's helpful but not optimal use of cpap therapy. Aerophagia is now a nightly issue and I'm not sure why. I try to sleep on my...
