Re: Modafinil (Provigil) or Armodafinil (Nuvigil)?
I'm still so tired despite perfect compliance, ahi of 1 or less and supplemental oxygen while I sleep. OK, but sleep issues are not all related to apnea/OSA, so maybe you are chasing a single reason (respiratory issues), while you could have OSA and something else (e.g. vitamin/mineral deficiency, ...

Re: Newbie in Europe would like advice on choosing CPAP
To tedtomato: Q: Did you try the nasal cushions before you settled on the nasal mask? As I mentioned above, I am fairly convinced to go with over-the-head hose, and I am concerned about the mustache problem with a nasal mask. I don't think I can follow Goofproof's suggestion to shave off the mustac...

Sorry, I don't know in which scenario Bipap is better than CPAP/APAP.
It sounds like you already have a very low AHI achieved with CPAP, and good compliance/tolerance of CPAP 8 hours a night, so not sure why you would be looking for another machine.

Re: Modafinil (Provigil) or Armodafinil (Nuvigil)?
What did your oximetry sensors and other sensor's show? My full PSG sleep study showed that respiratory issues (worse than originally thought) were resolved with CPAP, but there were some other non-respiratory issues, that wouldn't be resolved with CPAP. Those are still not resolved, so even if my ...

Re: Brand new ResMed S9 Autoset from CPAP.com
Not sure that I'd totally agree with better. Yes, the Airsense has a smaller footprint and a different humidifier. But from what I can gather the way the machine operates is just the same as the S9, including the algorithm. The main difference is price and cosmetic appearance. Everything the Airsen...

Re: Brand new ResMed S9 Autoset from CPAP.com
Our host, CPAP.com, is offering new ResMed S9 Autoset machines for $779 (including humidifier). I was surprised to see them available on their website (they were discontinued a while back), so I called them, and they said they were able to get 16 brand new machines. So, if anyone is wanting to get ...

Re: Newbie in Europe would like advice on choosing CPAP
Even many who report mouth-breathing find that they can use a nasal mask. The higher pressure from a a CPAP that keeps your lower airways open also might keep your sinuses open. I would give the nasal mask a try, and use the full face mask only if you find that you are still mouth breathing. I agre...

Re: Modafinil (Provigil) or Armodafinil (Nuvigil)?
For you..... Have you tried getting a pulse oximeter to see if your oxygen is dropping? I had another oximetry test once sleep apnea was under control and oxygen was still bad when sleeping and not ideal while awake. I have had a home sleep study, which diagnosed a mild OSA (AHI of 7), and then a f...

I have tried the Dreamstation Auto, the Resmed Airsense 10 CPAP, Autoset and Autoset for her.
The Resmed machines are superior to the Philips Dreamstation ones in various areas, such as autostart for instance.

Re: Modafinil (Provigil) or Armodafinil (Nuvigil)?
Any other suggestions? Are there any other steps before I discuss Modafinil (Provigil) or Armodafinil (Nuvigil) with a Dr? I am in the same position: CPAP/APAP has fixed the moderate sleep apnea but still tired in the morning. A full sleep study confirmed that I still have 15 arousals per hour that...

Re: Newbie in Europe would like advice on choosing CPAP
Often "stuffy" during the night from high mucus production I think this is an indication of mouth breathing. You would need a full face mask to start with (the F&P Simplus is very often a good choice), but should try to retrain yourself to breathe through your nose, which would reduce the mucus bei...

Re: Given ResMed AirSense 10 AutoSet for Her by Clinic
The "for her" model is the best model from ResMed, and has additional functionality. There is an additional "For her" algorithm, which is supposed to react quicker to flow limitations. However, this seems to only react quicker when pressure is below 10. Above 10, some strong snoring is required for ...

Re: S10 sdcard, remote wireless data transmission
This is a good idea! The convenience of using this method for me will depend on the range of the wifi built into these cards. What is the typical range? If you get a reasonable wifi signal where your CPAP machine is located, then it will work. The Toshiba FlashAir cards are able to join an existing...
