When i happen to wake up sleeping on my back

I seem to be having an apnea moment......I know sleeping on the back can make things worse, so I try to avoid.....But my question is, if sleeping on the back causes more issues, would that mean I need to have an increased pressure setting to help compensate for this or that won't really make much di...

Re: Insomnia is ruining my life, cpap is not helping

Not sure if you have tried magnesium......But I can promise you, if you find the right dosage, you will be able to not only initiate sleep, but stay a sleep longer.......You will want to get the citrate form.......most of the brands will come in 125-150mg per capsule...... the 200mg-350mg, appears t...

Re: Considering nasal pillows again... Taping suggestions

3m Nexcare sensitive skin tape.....best of both worlds that I have found.....although, yes, keeping the face fairly clean shaven does help...I used to shave once maybe twice a week, now its about every other day if I want that perfect seal...

Re: How to improve quality of sleep - what works for you?

I second the magnesium and D supplementation......Once you start getting up to the 250mg to 350mg of magnesium a day, you will find that not only initiating sleep will be easier, but sustaining sleep will be easier, as there is more suppression of cortisol and adrenaline....at least I noticed this f...

Re: Mouth leaks

I use a nasal pillow as well......was having leaking thru mouth......started out with chin straps....helped some, but there is always enough relaxation with my mouth that the air would start to make it thru the lips......so I decided to try and tape with chin strap.....this makes the difference........

Re: Settings for Heat and Humidity for cold rooms

So maybe lower humidity setting with warmer temp setting.........I have to admit I like cooler air than warmer air shooting into the old nostril......if I had a lower temp and more humidity, with the cold room, am I setting myself up for disaster....

Settings for Heat and Humidity for cold rooms

Re: Cold house and CPAP

With a heated hose, I fine that keeping the machine in auto heat/humid setting works quite well......I to for a while tried to adjust setting, but kept getting rainout....in auto setting, no worries and my room temp is at 62

Re: Frustrated - 3 weeks in

It can be challenging with the whole keeping the mouth/lips from burbling and spewing air.......take a look at pap cap, you can find it on amazon....its probably the best system you can find, in my opinion.....I went thru 4 or 5 chin strips that really didn't work until I found this one.....OH, and ...
