Re: solving chipmunk cheeks
You could try a really good chin strap like the Carex ($17.49) on amazon, which is what I've been using for the last 7 years. Plus mouth taping (Nextcare sensitive skin tape). These two items were the only solution to my chipmunk cheeks.

OK, I like that answer and I feel reassured--thanks! I actually look forward to going to bed these days, even with all the doodads I have attached to my head.

Questions from a former Dreamstation user, now an Air Sense 10 user
I've been using my new ResMed machine for almost a month now and I really like it, but I have a couple of questions. In the past, with the Dreamstation and my P10 nasal pillows, I used to be bothered all night with lots of RERA's, flow limitations, and hypopneas which woke me up a lot. My nightly AH...

No hypopneas last night with new Airsense for Her!
I shelved my Dreamstation yesterday because of anxiety about the recall and purchased the Autosense 10 for Her with some trepidation because change is hard. However, after trying it out last night, I was so excited to see that I had NO hypopneas! First time in five years! Hypopneas and flow limitati...

Re: Traditional Cpap vs Apap
Oops! Sorry, I had a brain collapse. I USED to use straight cpap, but have since gone back to Autopap with a much more limited pressure setting and good results. You can completely disregard my former message. Apologies for having a senior moment.

Re: Traditional Cpap vs Apap
Apparently I’m a dinosaur who uses only cpap. I started out five years ago, as instructed by my doctor, with an auto pap setting of 8-12. Many problems ensued with many degrees of pressure settings changes. Eventually, after reading discussions here, I felt I might be among those light sleepers who ...

Re: Did you have to lower pressure when you started using Bleep
My leak rate with the Bleep last night was zero. After I changed to my P10 mask, it stayed between 2-4 the rest of the night. Here's a screen shot.

Did you have to lower pressure when you started using Bleep
I’ve been having trouble getting used to my Bleep. It seems to send more air down my airway than the medium size P10 pillows. I’ve been waking up with a sore throat about an hour or two after I go to sleep, so then I have to take it off and go back to my old mask. I use a chin strap and tape my mout...

Re: Advice please--I can't stop waking even with very low AHI
Miss Emerita,
I tried flex in the past but turned it off because I decided that the changing pressures woke me up. I can give it a try with the Bleep. Thanks for the suggestion. I'd forgotten about that.

Re: Advice please--I can't stop waking even with very low AHI
DG, well, since you asked..... I've tried auto settings before but I've never got it right. When I first started using cpap, the machine was set on APAP at pressures of 8-14, but I couldn't tolerate it for more than an hour, so, thinking that the pressure changes were waking me up, we (the sleep doc...

Re: Advice please--I can't stop waking even with very low AHI
CG, I’ve given up coffee before so I can try it again, also chocolate and alcohol. I’ll do a two week experiment and see what happens. SMB, I tape my mouth so I’m not doing any mouth-breathing. thanks for the reminder about blue screens. UBG, I use the Phillips Dreamstation. For the meantime, I’ve g...

Re: Advice please--I can't stop waking even with very low AHI
Thanks, CG. I do a pretty good job of following all this advice except the caffeine and chocolate part. I do enjoy my two cups of coffee a day, but gee, it's only two cups, half-full, and I drink the last one about 2 pm. I could try eliminating coffee--it wouldn't kill me. I'm not going to give up c...

Advice please--I can't stop waking even with very low AHI
After three years, I just can't seem to figure this out. I probably shouldn't complain because I have very low AHI numbers--I frequently have 0 events per night. I don't get classic apneas but I' often get flow limitations, RERA's and hypopneas which cause me to wake up multiple times per night. I'v...

Re: New Bleep user has a couple of questions
Just talked to Stuart and we worked it out. He’s sending me a new mask which he’s personally examining to make sure there’s no defects, and I got a good lesson in how to put on the ports so they hang straight down. He’s great! Thanks, Pugsy! You’ve come to the rescue once again.

Re: New Bleep user has a couple of questions
So, I think I have a defective mask. Last night my husband woke me up because of the “whooshing.” I took it off, put on my P 10 back and went back to sleep. After close inspection this morning I saw that one of the little wings on the outside of the catch looked deformed. When I experimented pushing...
