Ask Eminem about Ambien
I'm sure Ambien is like most things health-related and everyone reacts to it differently. I'm sure as a pharmacist, Tomjax can attest to the fact that everyone reacts to various pharmaceuticals in different ways, just as they do to alcohol or tobacco use, etc. I took Ambien once & had what I thought...

Buy a new hat, drink a good wine, treat yourself, and someone you love, to a new bauble, live while you are alive... you never know when the mid-town bus is going to have your name written across its front bumper! Totally off point, but just had to tell you I love your signature quote. Because it's...

WAFlowers...how'd it go last night?!
Bill, it's great to hear that your 1st night was a great 1st night. You did this so well, really going to school on this whole deal, I'm sure you'll be bright eyed in no time!
Congratulations!

Chinstraps and mouth leaks

Thanks, Will. Is the one pictured earlier in this thread the one you're talking about?

101 daytime uses for your CPAP machine!
Derek, that's classic!
I don't know what humidifier that is, but if it's heated, you could have boiled tropical fish for dinner (but then how would you get them out?)!

Chinstraps and mouth leaks
http://www.cpapplus.com/CPAP_Images/CPAP_Headgear/TMS-09Mb.jpg I don't think I've ever heard anyone say a chinstrap really worked until now. I think I'll give it a go. Thanks for the tip! Yes, DrainedDad , thanks. I think I will too. I have a mouth leak problem too & have also tried some homemade s...

Works great for inflating airbeds & inflatable river kayaks. Really.

I Like To Use The Ramp Feature. Do You?
Have I mentioned lately how much I love this board??? Another ditto, 4Katie. This board has been a real lifesaver. Probably literally. Put me in the camp of negatives for ramping, too, but apparently for a different reason than cited so far. I have a straight CPAP set @11cm & a ResMed Mirage f/f ma...

CONGRATULATIONS, BILL!
I'm pleased, happy, thrilled (take your pick or use your own adjective) to report that I finally have my prescription in hand. Not only that, but the doctor actually prescribed an auto unit. In fact, he specifically prescribed the 420E and also specified a heated humidifier. YIPEE! I've already fax...

Re: DOC WOULD NOT PRESCRIBE AUTO C-FLEX
Good old USA.... The last bastion of ludicrous regulations. What one must surmise was originally devised to protect us, has, in this instance, resulted in preventing us from making a move without lining someone else's pockets. Certainly I am at much greater risk of dying from swallowing a bottle of...

Re: DOC WOULD NOT PRESCRIBE AUTO C-FLEX
Mr. Tired & Gracie97 - I think you're just threatening to cut into your doctor's profits. "I'm a little surprised I haven't read someone else questioning this. Is it common practice for a doctor to also act as a DME? Doesn't this scream conflict of interest to anyone but me?" And then: "If he's als...

How Fat Are You?
Time to start a nationwide gym specifically for sufferers of Sleep Apnea. Good idea, Johnny, except the last time I was in the gym I laid down on the floor mat to start stretching exercises, and fell asleep! So if we're going to have a gym full of apneacs, we better have the music up really loud or...

Left or Right Side??
I always sleep on my left side because I have very little hearing in my right ear and that makes for a very quiet sleep...the other ear is perfect though. I have 100% hearing loss in my right ear, too, but left ear is ok. Does it affect your equilibrium or balance? I often walk like I used to after...

OSA pays off (Stock, that is)
What a great thread. Thanks for starting it, tomjax. When I had a Medtronic pacemaker implanted 5 years ago I was so impressed with their technology & excellent follow-up, I bought a few shares (MDT). I'm still impressed with both the pacemaker & the company. They both take a lickin', but keep on ti...
