Re: Giving up because of Aerophagia. Looking at Oral Appliances
Make XPAP work or waste your money on junk that won't work, sounds like a no brainer. Jim You could raise the head of your bed 4 to 6 inches, you also need to fill in your equipment in text not Icoony, your settings so they will show up in each post. Running apap 7 to 9 until you get the air swallo...

Giving up because of Aerophagia. Looking at Oral Appliances
I was hopping the Aerophagia would improve over time, but it simply hasn't.. Anyone try the Oral Appliances they sell on Amazon? Do you think it's worth trying out first, or should I go to a dentist and get one custom made?

Re: Thoughts on my Sleepyhead data?
It does look like a min pressure of 8 or 9 would benefit. I would start with 8 and evaluate for a week. Have you searched the forum for aerophagia? There's lots of discussion on that. Yep I've done my research on aerophagia. Upped my pressure from 7.0-7.5 and had an AHI of 2 last night. Think I'll ...

Re: Thoughts on my Sleepyhead data?
Well it's fairly obvious that a little more pressure is needed but with the aerophagia issues there's a real chance that more pressure will make those issues worse. The thing is that you didn't spend a whole lot of time at pressures all that much higher than the 7 cm or I would suggest a small incr...

Re: Thoughts on my Sleepyhead data?
Bump. I guess there's not much advice one can give outside of just upping my pressure. The damn aerophagia has been holding me back.

Re: Thoughts on my Sleepyhead data?
Your reports don't add up. The total of your CA plus OAs plus hyponeas shown on the left don't add up to the AHI. OAs seem to be missing from the Left side and the Events graph... Go down to the bottom of the graphs on the left where it has a little down/up arrow and you see PB in the tiny box....c...

Thoughts on my Sleepyhead data?
Didn't want to hijack the other dudes thread so thought I'd make a separate one. My AHI has been around 5 for a while now. Been suffering from aerophagia, but it seems to be getting better. current pressure is at 7 min and 12 max. I use a full face mask and usually starts to leak really bad around 1...

Re: Please help--strange symptoms and kind of desperate
Do you have the flex feature on? The pressure is supposed to decrease as you exhale, I could never get used to it.

Re: Sleep Study Results REM AHI vs NREM
She's a PA and she still believes that old wives tale...don't know I would be seeking her help for anything serious. Unfortunately she isn't alone in that line of thinking. A lot of doctors still feel that way...and a lot of skinny people..men and women..don't get treated because of that "only fat ...

Re: Sleep Study Results REM AHI vs NREM
If it is friends or family who are telling you it is all in your head have them watch this little video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-gie2dhqP2c Or if it spouse... go to bed and stay awake and poke him/her in the ribs until he/she wakes up...do it once every 2 minutes for 3 or 4 hours...that sh...

Re: Sleep Study Results REM AHI vs NREM
What you have is actually quite common. I have it myself and in numbers very similar to yours. The medical community has to have some sort of numerical evaluation and they don't really take the fact that while you only spend around 20% of the night in REM they can't extrapolate the AHI any better. ...

Re: Sleep Study Results REM AHI vs NREM
I just feel like 20 AHI isn't really all that high in the grand scheme, at least compared to 60 AHI during rem sleep.BlackSpinner wrote:It doesn't really matter what it is called. You qualify for a xpap. Where it may matter is with your pressure needs. But pressure and severity have nothing to do with each other.

Sleep Study Results REM AHI vs NREM
So I just got my sleep study results. My overall AHI came out to 20.6, but my REM AHI was 57.6 compared to 15 AHI with NREM. Shouldn't my sleep apnea be considered to be more severe if my REM AHI was so much higher? Isn't Rem sleep the most important sleep to get? Shouldn't your Rem AHI be the most ...
