Re: Could someone look at my Sleepyhead results and talk about UARS?

peeing at night (nocturia) is a symptom of sleep disordered breathing. I too have UARS and I too get up to urinate at night like clockwork.

Question: Have you ever tried a few weeks of using one of the nasal corticosteroids, like Flonase?
I have, yes. It made no difference for me. I generally breathe pretty well through my nose, even with some mild congestion year-round.

Re: UARS Sleep Endoscopy (Video Included)

(1) Straight CPAP (2) with NO pressure relief (3) at a higher pressure than what fixes AHI is sometimes the only form of PAP that provides relief to the sensitive-airway types, I believe, as it can sometimes hold the airway as perfectly still as possible. And it can (4) take months for the brain to...

Re: UARS Sleep Endoscopy (Video Included)

indeed you are correct that we must be very careful. i haven't pulled the trigger to go ahead with the surgery just yet as i will probably show the video to a few other doctors and see what their thoughts are. weight loss might help a fair bit for me as well. Unfortunately, PAP therapies do not work...

UARS Sleep Endoscopy (Video Included)

Hi all. Haven't been on here in a while. After months of trialing CPAP/APAP/BIPAP/ASV without success, I decided to get a sleep endoscopy to see where narrowing was occurring in my airway. So I could guide a surgical procedure. I flew to Eric Kezirian to have him to a sleep endoscopy on me. He sent ...

Re: How does an ASV work?

Thanks pugsy. Was wondering why the previous poster suggested resmeds are better than resporonics ASVs though.

How so? Quicker to respond to irregular breathing? Better algorithm?

Re: How does an ASV work?

Does an ASV respond to UARS events? APAP did not respond to mine so I'm curious. I have an asv I found for $1000 bucks off craigslist and I want to use it, but not really sure how. trying to decide if I should shell out the dough to see Krakow or just try to titrate myself on this complicated machi...

Re: How does an ASV work?

Haha I watched a YouTube video which explained it. So it’s basicaly a bipap that adjusts pressures on the basis of an algorithm. Scoopedfrom another post... An ASV is a different beast. It adjusts pressures, but instead of watching events like an auto machine to decide what pressure levels, it watch...

How does an ASV work?

just curious how an ASV actually works. I’ve read that it’s for complex sleep apnea and krakow recommends it for UARS patients. But what exactly does it do? How’s it different than an auto pap?
